if i were you id just get sc2 and enjoy the custom maps on there
[editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
its basically hundreds of free games in one purchase
[editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
well 3 purchases really if you are going to get the future expansions
there's a lot of good maps but only the few ones at the top actually get played because the custom game system for sc2 is terrible.

And finding a game is a total bitch
Whats funny is that you don't know the full story. In WC3's EULA, it said all data, art, etc. is property of Blizzard Entertainment including custom maps and mods
Hmm, I need to go dig up and find this.

EULAs don't hold in court.
These dunderheads think they can take a shit on Valve. Bro Gabe Newell will like .. take your company like a FUCKING DONUT and eat you alive. trufax

that's for anything that uses warcraft models.
if you look at dota 2, does it use any wc3 models, sounds, art, etc.????
[editline]12th February 2012[/editline]
here's the eula: http://www.scribd.com/doc/73519892/Warcraft-III-Documentation
Fucks sake.
I like DoTA but I preferred other custom games on WC3.
I'm waiting for one of these games, I don't care if it's HoN or DoTA2 to offer the custom map ability.
I bought HoN expressedly cause it said it'd have a map editor, and now, 3 years on, it still hasn't got custom game functionality.
Fuck, I'd pay like £50 for it as well.
Uh, HoN DOES have map editor?
Whats funny is that you don't know the full story. In WC3's EULA, it said all data, art, etc. is property of Blizzard Entertainment including custom maps and mods
Dota 2 is not a WC3 mod.
I dunno about the art though.
And then the customers get FUCKED IN THE ASS because the game doesn't gets released due to court shit.
I wish we rebelled everytime something like that happened.

I can't imagine anybody giving more then a single sigh if it doesn't get released.
Blizzard can never win this. The developers of Dota are with Valve now which means Valve has all rights there is to the name.
Blizzard are idiots.
I hope they trip over and break a nail.
I hope they trip over and break a nail.
You're a dick.
The biggest thing thats going to happen is that they might have to change the name.
DOTA 2 is a retarded name to use anyway. It's not memorable at all.
Name it Penis

i dunno man, dota is pretty memorable to have over 10+ million players all over the world.
That's not how it works. For the same reason Blizzard doesn't have any rights to any of the names I used for maps in Warcraft III.
I am pretty much 100% sure that Blizzard claimed in their terms of services that they legally owned anything made with WC III content.
I mean come to think of it I don't really know the full story concerning that thing about Blizzard turning down the dota devs so idk

EULA will NOT hold in court for the millionths time
I guess id should be getting all pissy at Valve for releasing Team Fortress all those years ago since it was a mod on their engine and was also really popular.
Blizzard really has no case beyond "IT'S REALLY POPULAR YA KNOW!!!!".
Blizzard's just mad they can't stop the Dota train, meanwhile interest in WoW is falling and Diablo 3 will probably be not good.

whats there to be mad about? 7 years later and WoW has 10 million subs, D3 is going to be bought by millions of people, they had 1 million+ people sign up with the annual pass, tons of people are playing SC2, they canceled blizzcon 2012 which caused large outcry showing people are still excited about paying $120+ for convention tickets
Activision are idiots.
Fixed
Where the fuck is my warcraft 4?
See: World of Warcraft
Blizzard should make Warcraft 4, which continues the story from Warcraft 3.
Blizzard should make Warcraft 4, which continues the story from Warcraft 3.
They can't because then all the WoW addicts will moan about continuity and whatnot.

Those people have money? I'm shocked considering how much Blizzard nickles and dimes its WoW userbase with overly expensive shit like simply changing a server or haircut for your virtual character.
nobody who plays wc3 online cares about the story anyway
blizzard make the next warcraft game
Blizzard should make Warcraft 4, which continues the story from Warcraft 3.
What's to continue?
