It's like that grand update people got in the mail that upgraded the house overview for Packard Bell Navigator. Parts of the old place still remain but the outlaying area is now bigger.
i am suddenly thrown back to dozens of memories of windows 98 software
I need to keep a copy of the old map when GMod 13 arrives.
The old versions will doubtless be available on Workshop anyway
I thought I should post this here too. Here is the newest version of the map: (The picture links to the map)
Goodbye, old construct. :(
Holy dick and balls this needs to be. In fact, there need to be more maps like Portal 2 where it's been taken and fucked up with overgrowth and in ruins like no one's been there forever please please please let me download this so I can shower you with all my money.
Goodbye, old construct. -imgsnip- :(
holy shit someone make this happen. An overgrown construct like this would be amazing.
So in Gmod 13 we'll have gm_construct_13 and gm_oldstruct_overgrown
[meme]We should take this window and push it somewhere else![/meme] call it new map
And this is why people like FluD should stay in Garry's Mod discussion.

The changelog has been visually updated by yours truely. You can reach the changelog here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1L8e0H2DJ9JBnfI2_4ABoPwV7mIEvkvmWH9zWoyTUKgc/edit
Goodbye, old construct. :(
I think i'll work on this idea when I get home, people are begging it to be a map.
I think i'll work on this idea when I get home, people are begging it to be a map.
I'd probably install and load up GMod just to try this map
fucking, missed the keys again
Got myself a key yesterday, gonna try it out. :excited:
Does this map have full optimizations or will it lag like fuck when you set a nuke off?
Does this map have full optimizations or will it lag like fuck when you set a nuke off?
I get roughly the same FPS as I do in construct
I thought I should post this here too.
Does this map have full optimizations or will it lag like fuck when you set a nuke off?
It will perform in the same way as any map would with nukes going off. It has the same general performance that the current gm_construct has. If you have any further questions, please visit the thread. http://facepunch.com/threads/1168260 [editline]18th March 2012[/editline]
If that works with Garry's Mod 12, i'll love this.
Some parts are currently broken in gmod12.
If that works with Garry's Mod 12, i'll love this.
Garry's Mod 13 didn't have many changes to how maps work, if any. It would work fine. It could work in Team Fortress 2 if you wanted it to.
So how old is GMod 9 GM_construct now?
So how old is GMod 9 GM_construct now?
Gmod 10 came was officially release in 2006 so I'd say 5-6 years old.
Gmod 10 came was officially release in 2006 so I'd say 5-6 years old.
I feel old now Facepunch has grown and been through so much now too, so interesting. Gmod 9 and 10 are a blur now.
I always prefered gm_freespace to gm_construct
I always prefered gm_freespace to gm_construct
I'd prefer a mix of the two. Construct inside Freespace would be nice. I love the City of freespace but about nothing else. Good for flying though
I always prefered gm_freespace to gm_construct
It's a shame that has nothing to do with the thread as freespace isn't the stock map for GMod now is it? The freespace maps (all the various decompilations and bastardisations) are quite nice, but construct will always be something GMod is known for. It's a simple map that anyone can run.
how detailed are the interiors of those buildings?
how detailed are the interiors of those buildings?
Not very. The two buildings you can enter are flat plaster walls. Nothing else. One of them has a few floors to build lifts too as well, but that's it.
Just tried the new construct. I think the water tower should be placed outside the walls.
