I can't say I'd put PS2 or vegas 2 up there
I'd PS2 up there just for the sheer moments it works and you suddenly just have explosions everywhere, tanks moving forward and about 50 people on each side clashing. That usually happens daily.
Its what Battlefield wants to be but can never work out to include more people.
DayZ instead of Arma 2/3? UT instead of UT2004? I know it's a subjective list but some of the games are objectively bad [sp]and if you're gonna go as far back as unreal tournament why not put halo 1 in there[/sp]
No Deus Ex 1?
Deus Ex 1 is an acquired taste. It's not something I'd put in a "best FPS games" list that was (from looking at the others) focused on the actual shooting
PCGN is at it again!
getting across the map headshots with the source/1.6 deagle was so goddamn satisfying. still possible in GO, but it's obvious they're definitely sidearms now
Thats the issue, in CSS and 1.6 no gun was really any weaker than the others, sure the AWP is a canon, but my point is every gun was just as good as any other if you had the skill/aim, where as in CS:GO I feel that not to be the case. I like the wider arrange of weapons, great addition to CS imo, but at the same time I feel like its the cause of this issue, too many guns, too many stat changes, recoil acts differently. The Bizon is a perfect example of what im talking about, no gun feels that weak in any other CS.
The Deagle was so loved because its first shot after a certain recoil cooldown was like almost 100% accurate, its kind of like the CS version of Quakes railgun, and CS 1.6 and in turn source, were very much a slower quake with real guns, except extremely similar, fast clean movement, clean environments, more team oriented.
In CS:GO I have had the first shot go in the most retarded of directions not even where I aimed.
Again, with the "best" argument...
Also, why the fuck would dayz be on there, that's as far from "best" as you can get. It's so unoptimized(worse than arma oa) and unfinished it's not even funny.
The DayZ on the list is the idealized one you see in funny Youtube videos, not the actual DayZ.
No Doom?
Ah, fuck you!
1.6 is the best because
1. Best movement(goldsrc baby)
2. Best gun models(Thinner, cleaner, feels way better to use even based on looks)
3. Best sounds(very important actually to gameplay)
4. Longer timelimit for comp play(more tactical matches)
5. As easy modding
6. Way easier mapping(Almost purely geometry instead of props like source)
7. Func_vehicle, Func_mortar, turret functions, VIP, Escape(all add lots of options for custom maps)
8. Incredible netcode and hit detection(most important)
9. Cleanest(Extremely easy to pick things out)
10. Deagle is the least ass and best model.
1.6 is still the best
No shit, Sherlock. There wasn't a reason for you to make that list:
Also really CSGO? I admit it's a relatively good game, but it's basically what Source was from 1.6 except with more similar recoil that both Source and 1.6 players can phase into. I'm calling bullshit on that. CS1.6 deserves that spot way more than CSGO.
When I mean "CSGO is basically what 1.6 to Source was" I mean "They ripped a bunch of shit out but it's still an alright game."
The one seriously super amazing thing that came out of Source is you not having to buy ammo anymore.
That shit gets annoying when you first start the game and aren't use to that.
No Doom?
Ah, fuck you!
Yeah I dont know how doom can be left out at all, sure wolfenstien 3D was first, but Doom is what really brought the ENTIRE fps genre to life, it changed it forever, plus Doom still holds up extremely well today and is still a solid FPS, and its timeless, how a game this well made and influential doesnt make a top fps list just blows my mind.
Who the fuck wrote this list, there's zero reason to buy L4D1 anymore, 2 has all the content :v:
Even if you say the gameplay's different, there's an official mutator that changes it back

Only thing L4D2 is missing is The Lighthouse survival map.
Actually, is missing most survival maps from the first game, only No Mercy has them. Not to mention the covers from the campaigns doesn't have the "unique" background, they are all the same.
And if we go in details, in L4D you can see your legs while in L4D2 you can't. Not to mention in L4D animations weren't so broken and buggy like the ones in L4D2.
So yeah, there are reasons to have both L4D and L4D2.
bad company 2 was alright. rainbow six vegas 2 and farcry 3 were boring and repetitive, and l4d was great for the first month where you'd play it non-stop but has no replayability factor imo. call of duty 4 should've had a place in that list
I enjoyed 4 more than 2 tbh
No Deus Ex 1?
coming from someone who loves the original Deus Ex it's an awful shooter
hovercraft
NO.
