I really like the characters that they show so far, they look great. Except the middle one, without being racist though :v:

Also I hope GTA V has modding capabilities
I'm hoping for some Day Z style mods.
It still looks awful :v:
GTA IV looks kinda awful, especially how shit in the distance looks, but when experiencing it in mption you don't really care.

And I personally dont care about photorealistic textures and whatnot when the world feels this alive.

Wait for the pc version and have it alll!
If this has the fluidity of movement like Max Payne 3, it will be awesome
I want to be able to do shoot dives in GTA V.
I don't care if theres no bullet time, shoot diving is just super fun
Damn, this looks amazing, also is it just me, or does the guy who I assume is the main character, in the picture walking past the gas station, look like Jack from the shining, I think Jack is his name, I have bad memory.

There's 3 main characters :v:
I must buy myself a ps3 after seeing how good this game will get. can't wait 6 months or more for pc release.

The buildings almost looks like they where taking from a real life photo.

Not to mention that they're from the 360 version.
It looks good because it's colorful as shit. The textures do look crappy and the lack of AA in some shots. but that's to be expected.
Come on rockstar, we want this shit on PC.
Here's hoping it runs in 1080p on PS3.
Here's hoping it runs in 1080p on PS3.
Isn't it really rare for games on the PS3 to actually do that?
Isn't it really rare for games on the PS3 to actually do that?
Yup.
GT5 is the only one I can think of, and I heard it isn't even full 1080p.

GTA games have always been able to draw buildings from far distances, but the thing I'm worried about is the ped/car draw distance. And weapon range.
This is gonna be fantastic.

that looks rather bad.
Going to skip the console versions as I recall GTA4 on ps3 having horrible pop-in, looked horrible and ran horrible.
Just hope it's a decent port to PC.
One of the preview articles stated that there was no visible pop-in in the demo. Dunno what consoles they were played on though.
Didn't Rockstar try to remove modding from GTA IV? Isn't that why you need to do so much shit in order to make it work, such as reverting the game to an older version?
You don't need to do anything like that, mods work perfectly fine with the latest version. The only thing Rockstar has done was make it impossible to access multiplayer with any mods with one patch, but they got rid of that later.
Didn't Rockstar try to remove modding from GTA IV? Isn't that why you need to do so much shit in order to make it work, such as reverting the game to an older version? They did the same thing with GTA:SA, you had to use a patcher.
They tried to remove modding in both GTA:SA and GTA IV.
Here's hoping it runs in 1080p on PS3.
haha
enjoy having like 5 fps
as if GTAIV didn't have a terrible enough FPS in general already
They tried to remove modding in both GTA:SA and GTA IV.
If they really tried, the format for content storage wouldn't be so similar and as easy to unpack as it has been in all of the GTA games though. I think they didn't really try to stop it in SA, in GTA4 though they did go to some effort.
I'm guessing for GTA:SA it was the hot coffee thing, and GTA IV was for multiplayer exploits.
If they'd want to stop modding all they'd have to do was encrypt the img files.
They don't do so, therefor passively support modding.

Both retail games I own for PS3 (ACIII and Shadow of the Colossus/ICO) run in 1080p. If something that looks as nice as those screenshots can run off an Xbox at 720p, I don't see why it's unreasonable for the PS3 to play them at 1080p, especially since developers know how to optimize for the PS3 now, as opposed to when GTAIV released.

Wow, AC3 is 1080p? You sure it isn't 1080i or upscaled somehow?

i know it says 1080p, but I've noticed that some games just render the stuff like menus and overlays in 1080p while the actual game runs in a lower resolution
Maybe assassins creed 3 does run at 1080p, I'll be really impressed if it is but assassins creed 2 sure didn't run 1080p

The box doesn't mean that it renders at that resolution, it can OUTPUT at that resolution. It also says 480p, it doesn't mean that if I use a 480p TV that the game renders at 480p, it gets upscaled or downscaled to the resolution of the TV running it. Basically every console game has that on the box and the majority run at 720p. Considering the fact that every past AC game ran at 720p, I can assure you it's most likely 720p, if not lower. Some games run at lower than 720p (and are therefore sub-HD) and GTAIV was one of those games. (along with very CoD game)
Running at 1080p is a fucking joke on the PS3 and 360, there's a reason only less graphically intensive games run at it.
Personally, glad they fixed that issue with the street lights being on the wrong side of the roads.
Every street light in GTAIV was on the wrong side.
