Wait and don't buy it on launch?
So then I'm supposed to trust the reviews? I'm sorry, but most reviewers don't have the same taste in games that I do. I really have to try things for myself to know if I am going to like them.
nope, because the whole point is they haven't.
Are you stupid. It has been almost a month, and yet it's still plagued with terrible lag problems (I get a 1350 ping consistently when I can boot up any other multiplayer game and go no higher than 80) The real money auction house exists solely for Blizzard to get a consistent rate of investment after purchase. You can argue whatever bullshit about alternate money choices blah blah but they get 15% of it if you withdraw to Paypal or otherwise you have to use their money on their services (WoW subscriptions mostly) Uhh, they could still easily add offline-only characters and leave online-characters alone. Anything else you'd like to point out
you're aware you can be entitled to a refund, yes?
Is there a cutoff on when you purchased or how many hours you've played? Because if there is, I've probably exceeded it.
CoD doesn't have any kind of real world money auctioning thing and that's doing just fine.
CoD elite, DLC, map packs and whatnot give it constant income though?
CoD doesn't have any kind of real world money auctioning thing and that's doing just fine.
lol this post is hilarious
http://instagr.am/p/LsxthEjk6n/ he posted this on twitter, he can't be older than 14 give him a break
CoD elite, DLC, map packs and whatnot give it constant income though?
One time purchases give it constant income? Mw2 has no CoD elite, and no new map pack since like a year and is still online. My friend asked me to take a picture and I did.
One time purchases give it constant income? Mw2 has no CoD elite, and no new map pack since like a year and is still online.
MW2 forces the game host to be the server...
MW2 forces the game host to be the server...
You still have to connect trough IWnet. They have to keep servers up for that.
so why isnt there an option to not play while connected online all the time after ive logged into my account? like if im not going to buy anything from the auction house, or play with anybody?
so why isnt there an option to not play while connected online all the time after ive logged into my account? like if im not going to buy anything from the auction house, or play with anybody?
Because that would make d3 far far easier to crack and pirate.
So is WoW's, yet there are hundreds of emulated servers. There will eventually be a crack for Diablo 3, it is just a matter of waiting.
yeah eventually, but he used present tense.
You still have to connect trough IWnet. They have to keep servers up for that.
You're really comparing the cost of that to the cost of hosting 7 million + players in a constant game world.
http://instagr.am/p/LsxthEjk6n/ he posted this on twitter, he can't be older than 14 give him a break
blizzard fans, please play internet detective with my twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/weedguy420boner
One time purchases give it constant income? Mw2 has no CoD elite, and no new map pack since like a year and is still online.
consistent, every-year releases that sell hugely(as well as elite/dlc) give the company who keeps mw2 servers up a constant income to re-invest into every game in the series(in the form of servers, patches, or otherwise).
You're really comparing the cost of that to the cost of hosting 7 million + players in a constant game world.
Mw2 sold 14 million copies since launch, your point?
Mw2 sold 14 million copies since launch, your point?
the server load on d3 is 100000x that of IWnet???
the server load on d3 is 100000x that of IWnet???
That's their decision. Besides, how could you know that?
That's their decision. Besides, how could you know that?
based on the nature of the games and common technological knowledge?
based on the nature of the games and common technological knowledge?
Enlighten me.
Enlighten me.
Diablo 3 Servers are hosting hundreds of thousands if not millions of unique, constant worlds at any given time MW3 IWNet used for statistical data storage and matchmaking
Trying to get that refund. I had been on hold for about an hour before my call dropped.
Diablo 3 Servers are hosting hundreds of thousands if not millions of unique, constant worlds at any given time MW3 IWNet used for hosting hundreds of thousands if not millions of unique, constant statistics at any given time and matchmaking
?? I don't see how words can have such a big impact on hosting resources. Unless you meant worlds, but even then, that's just statistics too, just data storage.
Diablo 3 Servers are hosting hundreds of thousands if not millions of unique, constant worlds at any given time MW3 IWNet used for statistical data storage and matchmaking

How about don't buy it and wait for Torchlight 2 instead.
especially considering it won't be like the first (got old real quick)
?? I don't see how words can have such a big impact on hosting resources. Unless you meant worlds, but even then, that's just statistics too, just data storage.
... Seriously. Do you have any fucking idea how server hosting works? Because it's entirely indisputable that Diablo 3 requires a lot more in the server department than MW3.
... Seriously. Do you have any fucking idea how server hosting works? Because it's entirely indisputable that Diablo 3 requires a lot more in the server department than MW3.
You're right, I was being silly.

When you lose connection, you really get to see nothing but the effects on your side for 1 or 2 seconds. Can't pick up stuff, can't even see your inventory, nothing.
