I might get this, I've always wanted to get around to reading this.
Damn it! I have $50 a few days ago. I was going to pre order but decided to get an hdmi and a pc adapter for my Xbox wireless.
bourbon is not supposed to be a friend, he's basically a bandit tbh i think it's the other way around
Which is another reason why I like the game's interpretation of Bourbon. It's pretty obvious Bourbon is a sleazy bastard and is only using Artyom for his own purpose (though what exactly that is, I'm not sure, because Artyom's just a moon-eyed kid of no significance whatsoever). I think it only reinforces that point of Artyom being a moon-eyed kid, with one of his first friends outside of his home station being a bandit who had ulterior motives to helping him out. The fact that Artyom puts so much faith into such a character I feel helps capture how little Artyom knows of the real world. Beyond that, for such a slimeball that Bourbon was, he seemed to genuinely like Artyom. At the very least, he didn't want to see Artyom be killed or get into needless trouble, as is witnessed several times in the game. The game added a lot of character to Bourbon, whereas in the book he's just some random guy Artyom meets, walks into a tunnel with, and then [sp]gets spontaneously killed by a mind-controlling anomaly[sp].
i saw this the other day when reevaluating what i already preordered and saw they included it and i got so happy. I had been wanting to get a copy of it but i could only find it at some book repository and i heard the English translation was very very rough. Regardless i'm very excited to get this in addition to the game.
The English translation isn't 100% great, but the story makes up for it. I've already read it, hopefully Metro 2035's translation isn't as bad.
Sweet I pre purchased it on Steam today and 10% off plus getting the book made it pretty worth it to me.
Cool, I already read the books (2033 and 2034) + Towards the Light (from the Metro 2033 Universe series) Fucking awesome book, if you haven't read them, do it.
Shame, would have loved a physical copy bundle
Reading it on a proper Kindle device is fine, I was skeptical at first but I read both STALKER Southern Comfort and Northern Passage on my phone and had no problems reading or with eye strain, you can read it on your PC if you so wish as well.
i just preordered, can't wait to get my virtual book to put on my kindle. also the game, i guess.
bourbon is not supposed to be a friend, he's basically a bandit
yes, my plan was to kill artyom and take his stuff
Not that I know of. Based on what I heard, the developers decided to make a completely new story because the book was too much of a drama and did not have enough action.
Given the events of Last Light, it diverts from the books [sp]because 2034 didn't include the dark ones from what I heard?[/sp]
Given the events of Last Light, it diverts from the books [sp]because 2034 didn't include the dark ones from what I heard?[/sp]
[sp]Last light isn't going to really focus on the dark ones either, because the canonical ending is that artyom blew them all up.[/sp]
[sp]Last light isn't going to really focus on the dark ones either, because the canonical ending is that artyom blew them all up.[/sp]
If you read the Gospel of Artyom comic then you'll learn that [sp]Last Light will include the Dark Ones. Artyom mentions how he and his old childhood friends are the reasons the Dark Ones were able to enter the metro in the first place, and that his first encounter with them as a kid helped him briefly remember the face of his mother. There is also one Dark One left, a newborn that survived the missile strikes, so in the end the cycle continues. [/sp]
no thanks I'd rather keep my eyes It would be really really awesome if they had a collector's/limited edition with a physical copy
e-Ink screens are amazing for this, no eye strain at all
