From what i can tell, Saints Row IV put the franchise to a dead end. Only way I can see Saints Row V happening is if Deep Silver teamed up with Nordic games, retconned SRIV and put SRV somewhere between Saints Row: The Third and Red Faction 1. If i recall, Saints Row was a distant prequel to Red Faction back when THQ was still around.
All I want is a bully and read dead sequel tbh. We need a break from GTA games for the hype train to refuel.
I would kill for a second Bully just for the soundtrack alone.
And have even more arcadey, ruined driving with every vehicle being 100% the same.
GTAV had more realistic driving then GTAIV
GTAV had more realistic driving then GTAIV
It's debatable. GTAIV was landboat simulator but GTAV had controlling your car in the air and flipping it once it's over.
Honestly, though, I don't think we need realistic driving, we need good driving.
Neither was realistic tbh. GTA IV's driving was a lot more skill oriented and fun however.
In GTA V, just about every car just feels the same. And it feels like the physics have been dumbed down.

Well yeah duh haha but as a driver I found GTAV to be more accurate then GTAIV
GTA IV's driving was ultimately gimped for me due to the lack of open areas to really fuck around in, with the exception of the airport.
GTA V's driving was more fun for me if only for the fact you had so much more variation in the map.
If I can get a GTA game that's like Sleeping Dogs II, I'll be so happy.

Couldn't have done much in those open areas if they had any sort of bumps or hills, considering once your car flips you're fucked in IV.

I just want a SD2 itself.
Well it was like 5 years between GTA4 and GTAV, so i expect 2 more years and GTA6/GTATokyo will be released?
I honestly wish we could get another handheld game ala china town wars, preferably on 3ds. The Stories games were fun but very clunky while Chinatown wars played great because it was designed like that from the start. The top down camera would look sick in 3d too.

The story wasn't bad either, it played out a lot like the older gtas, it didn't take itself too seriously
How can they make a GTA in glorious nippon where no crimes exist except for whaling and yakuza white collar shit
I don't know why so many people are upset about GTA5. It's an absolutely marvelous game, the campaign with the characters are really entertaining and refreshing. Furthermore I like the dynamic between the three protagonists. Car driving was perhaps on a more arcade side but the cars felt unique. Also the cutscenes were quite great as well.
The multiplayer is a bit of a miss but playing in private a private lobby with buddies and doing missions is quite rewarding.

They will release it at the end of this console generation, so they can sell the same game several times; for current gen and next gen consoles, then two definitive editions; one for normal PCs and other one for VR.

It's definitely going to take longer than that, because Rockstar North has been focusing a large part of their attention towards Online. Like the article stated, they haven't even decided on a setting yet.
What I think is strange though, is that there hasn't even been an announcement of another Rockstar studio putting out a game. It's been almost 3 years since GTA 5. By this time after 4 they were close to announcing their second game after it.
On last page's talk about the driving physics in IV and V: forget about that. They should work on improving the on-foot physics. Yes, 'realistic', but it reminds me of that old 'World of World of Warcraft' video on The Onion (where you play as someone who plays WoW), point being that I never felt directly in 'control' of the character because of how sloppy everything was.
Tbh id be perfectly fine if gta6 just ripped every mechanic out of max payne 3
MP3 had extremely scary good everything but biggest reason is that they went from huge worlds to really tiny maps
I saw a few things from MP3 in gta6 but they were heavily toned down for the sake of making the game run

smart phones have mostly killed the handheld console market. it would probably come out on ios/android, not 3ds/psp
GTA set in australia.
bush bashin
GTA set in australia.

Where you play as (animal) fucking Mr. Zoo from K-Chat in Vice City. Fuck yeah
I just realised, the GTA games make heaps of references to Australia and they are always mocking us, but that's heaps awesome haha. Totally should make a game in Aus

it's just a bunch of references to red faction. the universes aren't related.
To be honest GTA Japan already exists, it's a series called called Yakuza and I wish it was on Steam because I've heard it's really fucking good. Completely different from Rockstar's tone, but good game nonetheless.
yakuza is nothing like gta other than the fact that they're both about criminals.

Because it feels incredibly executive meddled with. It seems like the singeplayer had its development stopped before the developer even could put in actual sandbox-esque fun content, just so they could work on the moneymaking grindfest that on line is.

Also, regarding the driving, in GTA IV, everything feels like it has Citroen C5 suspension, while in GTA V everything is actually a go-cart

Online was shoveled in by a different R* studio working separate from the main project. R*'s internal corporate structure is said to be a series of isolated groups that are kept in the dark about what's going on outside their respective groups and shit's all based on a need to know basis -- all to prevent leaks. That means you might be handed the task of fixing up X, Y, and Z issue in a car physics module, but you don't know if you just fixed suspension math for a new GTA, or a different IP on whatever platform, or a prototype for some new IP (that may never make it past the secret prototype stage), or what.
I gather that would complicate integration on such a large game.

Shit I thought I was the only one who thought that GTA V's sandbox was rubbish. It really is. After you finish the missions, and if you don't play online, there's really nothing to do. My most-favourite GTA is Vice City, and part of that is because of all of the things you can do outside of the missions. The rampages, finding the collectables, the RC games and all of the other mini-games.
I haven't got around to playing GTA4 yet but i watched this a while ago and quite a few things seem like they were done better than GTA5:

gta v itself was okay, but all the questionable shit rockstar did will be pretty hard to forgive.
-extreme delay for huge features
-lack of modding support
-shitty multiplayer
-shark cards
-literally stalking modders
-actually i retract this-

weren't we also promised singleplayer dlc at some point? i mean, the game has been out for almost 3 years now and still nothing on that.
