[QUOTE=Ylsid;50167095]I feel like the only reason people played it was because it had bad graphics and used web technologies so you could play it at school or on your mum's computer that she won't let you put games on because they'll slow it down or give it viruses

Idk man, I love getting them numbers.

The quests were tho, I really loved taking my time and solving them without spoilers.

the quests are the best of any mmo by far. it being a cheap mmo was a big reason why a lot of people played it for sure, but the lack of hub-based gameplay (a big rarity these days), the huge amount of hand-crafted quests, minigames (as well as adventure-based minigames like treasure trails) and a large amount of player skills are big reasons as well.

I loved Runescape because of its open world and many, many things to do. There were no classes, so you were never stuck always doing the same thing. You could do quests, run through dungeons, craft items, travel the land, do minigames and so on. There was always an adventure to be had when you logged in.
I remember way back when I used to play this, I was grinding Minotaurs and Idk how this happened, but this one minotaur I killed dropped a rune scimitar, and I freaked the fuck out cause thats the strongest material a free player can get.
