So it seems
This better be able to load GIF files.
Small file-sized dynamic backgrounds EVERYWHERE.
Idea: Toybox screenshots. Click on an image that someone uploaded (weather it be jpeg, png, or whatever else) and it will become your background. With support of multiple toybox backgrounds at once.

Son: hey dad
The buttons at the bottom remind me of TF2.
Look good. But I want the old one back "Gman with his water melons"
I believe it was necessary to achieve the forced perspective needed to create the mobius strip appearance.
Another normal, solid piece would have stuck out in front of the back portion where the door and Gman are, breaking the illusion. And making them straight would have left part of the middle piece overlapping, also breaking the illusion.
He could have just photoshopped some parts out and gotten it straight.

I think the charm is that it could all be done within Gmod.
The author was very careful to only make one piece go under the top-most piece - this was probably scaled to ~2x and placed behind everything. Note how the tiles are slightly larger than the one "below" it. If you remove this piece, everything looks "normal". Very clever.

Actually, now that I look at it closer, its a right triangle piece at the top. Its not actually under the others, it simply appears to be.
Should really make a system where people can make their own themes. Not just background images.
