I just noticed that the two guys in the video look just like the web comic artist and his friend over at Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.
What for? Id's convention is called Quakecon, but it's not solely about Quake
Personal preference i guess.
AKA: Overused joke that's been dead and unfunny since 2009
And offensive to people who actually do have Autism.
I like how all the hipsters in the thread bash Minecraft and Notch but before it sold a million copies and became the best selling indie game of all time they were sucking his dick.
A fair amount of people feel bummed out about minecraft because at the time before it sold a million copies as you say it seemed to have a very big future ahead in terms of content.
Then updates became less good and some things that we had hoped for or were hinted at never happened.
It just seems like there was a lot of potential for minecraft that went to waste.
I guess you can say that we still got a lot of gaming hours out of it and we shouldn't complain, but still it feels like minecraft could have been a whole lot better than it turned out.
That is where some of the Notch bashing comes from.

"o but its funny 2 make fun of ppl who r inferior 2 me!!!"
I wish people would stop trying to make autism out to be a laughing matter.
CONVENTIONS ARE ONLY OKAY WHEN ITS STUFF THAT I FUCKING LIKE ~every poster in this thread

I do like minecraft, but fine, i'm sorry for expressing my negative opinion in this thread.
So I guess he wanted the euro spergs instead of the North American spergs this time around?
It seems a little silly because following last year's MineCon you'd have thought that they learned that it would be full of little kids, not to mention that YogsCast drama, but if they're willing to put up with all that shit again then leave them be.

Except they are now picking up again because Notch is no longer in charge, and people like Jeb and Dinnerbone add tons of content.
I dunno about you guys, but if there was a Minecon anywhere near where I lived and it wasn't too expensive, I'd probably go.
I like Minecraft even though it's not perfect and going out to meet with other Minecraft fans sounds like it'd be fun to try.
(except for the fact that they'd be shrieking little children or overweight neckbeards)
people like Jeb and Dinnerbone add tons of content.
This is true, but they have no game direction, and pander to the community.
I'm pretty sure most 12-year-old kids' parents can't afford the trip, bad move on notch's part.
Because only America has kids right?
Edit : Ninja'd.
Minecraft is still a decent game - just, they've botched up performance a little, which I think they worked on in 1.3 - I'd also like a finite map option if they ever add one.
Spaghetticon 2012.
Not like I can complain about cons though.
This is true, but they have no game direction, and pander to the community.
Pretty sure they are going to focus on that ASAP. First up is the Mod API, which is by far the most requested feature ever (which is being designed directly from input by the community).
Kinda irritates me that they cant use The Globe which is located in the same damn city. If they did, I would be able to go.
I like how all the hipsters in the thread bash Minecraft and Notch but before it sold a million copies and became the best selling indie game of all time they were sucking his dick.
I think people hate Notch now not because they are hipsters, but because Notch turned into an egotistical annoyance.
Hes done tweets, blogs, interviews, or even just screenshotting emails of his, on bashing companys, sometimes people(the whole potioncraft shit) and acting like he knows how the game industry works in and out and how so many people are wrong besides him.
He even stated in one of his blogs that he always thought he was the best programmer in the world until he got denied a job at a big American company, probably Valve because its his favorite company, this was after Minecrafts huge success also.
Just annouced: GCon. The Garry's Mod convention
At least he choose a kid friendly place this time.
I like how all the hipsters in the thread bash Minecraft and Notch but before it sold a million copies and became the best selling indie game of all time they were sucking his dick.
Actually, the main reason they bash him was because he became a lazy fuck and the game went downhill with his own decline, with each update seemingly making the game WORSE if anything.
That's why it's bashed so bad.
Why does this exist?
Minecraft was a good game, but it doesn't deserve its own convention.
I can't think of any one game that deserves an entire convention, no matter how good it is.
I never really saw the point of these conventions. Why does a single game needs its own convention?
I like how all the hipsters in the thread bash Minecraft and Notch but before it sold a million copies and became the best selling indie game of all time they were sucking his dick.
I like Minecraft, and I liked Notch, but Minecon is one of the stupidest fucking things ever and Notch has an ego the size of the sun now. You don't make a giant convention for ONE GAME! And it's still in Beta!
I can't think of any one game that deserves an entire convention, no matter how good it is.
Quakecon.
Quakecon.
Quakecon was/is more of a place for id and Bethesda to show off new games and for groups of hundreds of people play on their beautiful computer towers.
People still play the game? I thought it was dead, or at least starting to die.
The other thing with minecon is that the show floor is full of indie developer showing off their games.
Minecraft is just the big part of the convention.
[sp]still a kinda stupid con though[/sp]

So, pretty much PAX but with 120% more 11 year olds?
I'm really not sure how minecraft needs to deserve a convention to have one. People enjoy these conventions and go to them and that's all that matters. Heck, it's hardly a travel for me so it might be fun if it isn't so damn overpriced like the first one.
