• EA tells investors turning off Battlefront 2's microtransactions will not affect earnings

The physical copy of the game came with a card with instructions on how to get a 4 Star Kylo Ren in Galaxy of Heroes :v:
I got your reason: it's called capitalism. The whole point of corporations is to make profit for their shareholders. I'd say they "have no choice" but they probably like it.
And it's up to consumers to not be brainless and make sure they're not getting fucked in the ass at every turn. Trying to pay as little money to companies as possible for a product is a part of capitalism that you sorta forgot.
The only reason I can see why it wouldn't have a material impact is if projected earnings didn't take the microtransactions into account, which would be odd because that was going to be the sole driver of Battlefront 2 revenue after release, replacing the highly successful premium season pass model that DICE games had used in previous years. That, or they are outright lying to investors. If game companies are only making games to make money and not because they actually give a shit about making games, they can fuck right out of this universe. I don't want to hear or read a company talking about profits first when it comes to games, I know life isn't easy without money but these companies act like they're working from pennies which isn't the fucking case by a longshot, they need to find their hearts when it comes to making games and actually give a shit about the people who buy their games, instead of treating us like shit.
I don't expect them to actually gain their customers back. EA screwed big time.
