H1Z1 shambles onto Steam Early Access with zombie infested trailer

PS thats an old as shit trailer. Watch more recent livestreams such as the ones from the other night for a better representation as to where it is now.
I'm probably going to dip into this anyway since I've followed it since it was announced and I want to see where it goes.
PCGamer stream from the other night: (best quality and not some douche nozzle messing about):
You know, Facepunch liked the look of this when it was announced. APparently not now. Weird how that works, right? :v:
No, not at all? Ever heard of changing opinions?
Wasn't this game supposed to be amazing and stuff? Everyone is negative about it now, not sure if it's worth trying.
Besides the lighting and animations and melee combat looking like ass. I am just really really sad they din't push the game into a new direction.
Its probably going to sell great, but only because its a F2P version of DayZ, not because they actually pushed the genre forward in any way.
i havent really kept up with this, but i think its looking decent considering they knocked it up in 8 months or so. i always thought it had 10x more promise than DayZ purely because they have an actual team and they have the PS2 engine which as a base has a lot of good features for a game like this (huge map support, tons of players, weather system, vehicles) etc
its f2p so worth a try. i think comparing it to warz is pretty unfair even though its a similar concept (zombie game built upon an existing fps game engine) since it has some decent experienced devs on it and they have been very open with the community and have done constant livestreams showing its progress/ingame stuff.
if someone were to buy into this in early access and complain about it being shit then i'd say its their own dumb fault because there is an immense amount of footage of gameplay and ongoing streams you can skim through to see its state right now.

i was a bit weary that they put stuff in the packages like 'event tickets' and 'airdrop tickets' or whatever because it seemed like it could be a u-turn in them promising the cash shop not affecting gameplay. apparently the airdrops let you call a supply drop but it drops somewhere randomly on the map and anyone can go for it.
Hey, SOE, you know what they say about first impressions? You only get one. Maybe you guys should have kept this under wraps a bit longer instead of seeming like greedy anxious a-holes who just want to get as many people hyped as possible with this shitfest "pre-alpha" gameplay.
When I heard SOE was making a multiplayer zombie game based off of the PlanetSide2 engine, I was pretty stoked. But this is just garbage right now, and the devs know it. PS2 has at least some care taken into how it looks and feels. This looks like a teenager made a Unity3D game with ripped zombie models and animations.

Uh they planned to release this game in july of last year, but they pushed it back to add more features/fix bugs in the game. They wanted to feel like there was enough to do to warrant releasing the game in early access.
The game looks fine, make sure to watch the actual high quality stream off PCgamer, it looked a lot better. Melee combo system will take some time getting use to, and it isn't as clunky as Day Z.
The devs behind H1Z1 is what's going to make it great, they've even said they're ready to do weekly patches to fix bugs/add content to the game. So we aren't going to have the same bug throughout early access.
Also these kinds of games I would say is you can't really watch the streamers. almost every streamer that has played it so far has played it like they're completely clueless as to what's going on. It seems like a simple game to pick up if you've ever played any FPS or survival games.
Also the game actually looks a lot more eye appealing than the other games imo.
I don't get the hate, it's not the greatest looking game on the planet but it's certainly not the worst, and given that they're going to be hosting servers with upwards of 2,000 people I doubt their development focus has been on shiny animations as opposed to building solid networking systems. Visual shit can come later, as long as it runs functionally and is fun I don't see the need to shit all over it.
theres plenty of other pay to play experiences on the market
There's no good pay-to-play survival multiplayer sandbox out there
So, it's yet another early access zombie survival game, except this one will be free2play and yet they still expect us to pay while it's not done yet. Fuck that.
Why do people like you feel entitled to be in the beta for free lol
Don't Starve Together's going to be free for any Don't Starve owner when it comes out, but it's still like what, $20 on Steam for beta access?

$5 to get 2 beta keys. If you already own the base game that is. I believe it's $20 to get the base game and the multiplayer beta.
You pay for alpha access... you should know what goes along with that.. bugs.. shit graphics..etc.. I believe the graphics will improve as we get closer to full release as that should be the last thing they focus on.
