Fuck, of course it goes on sale and I don't get paid for another week.
I bought this some time ago and it was the best decision I ever made
Fun game, but incredibly short. Still worth a play, but not my favorite platinum game
High replay value.
Easily my GOTY for 2014, only thing I didn't like was how short it is.
Easily my GOTY for 2014, only thing I didn't like was how short it is.
It's also has really good replay value, so it's length isn't too bothersome.
Not available in my region. :(
Not available in my region. :(
wow why is china so terrible also this is a quality steam review:
Not Recommended 0.0 hrs last two weeks / 9.2 hrs on record I enjoy longer games with freedom of choice, replayability and a solid story... This was not one of those games. It's fun enough (although it can be frustrating, with parry spam nonsense), but it was so short and random that I was left wondering why I spent 30$ on the game after I'd beaten it.
Apparently Revengeance difficulty, all the unlockable VR Missions, costumes, and weapons, and the character DLC's equal "no replayability". Also who goes into a Metal Gear/Platinum game expecting a solid story lmao
Also who goes into a Metal Gear/Platinum game expecting a solid story lmao
heh
At this price I really really want to buy this game for myself but I can't because I already have it.
I have over 100 hours in this. Most of it spent beating the game on Revengeance difficulty, S-Ranking every chapter. I'm still not bored in the slightest. I can't recommend it enough.
I'm fucking invincible! It plays without issues with mouse and keyboard, has a great soundtrack, especially for the boss fights and overall is amazing fun with it's gameplay and tone. Be careful though, there's a bug with the end boss, if you don't have good framerate (60 FPS I believe) you get almost no time to cut specific things. Just lower your graphics to get stable and it should be alright. Or if you have good PC it should be okay.
great game, good deal
Everybody should buy this game, even if you're not into character action games. I wasn't until I played this, and now it's my favorite genre. I desperately want a sequel starring Jetstream Sam.
great game, good deal
If Rusty recommends a game, you know it's probably pretty darn good. But it before it goes off sale.
MGS4 completely ruined the point of Raiden's character. Then again, MGS4 ruined basically everything.
MGS4 is a meta commentary on Kojimas feelings himself and the fact he was forced to make a game he didnt want to ever be made. Old Snake is Kojima, this is why he has thrown away all of his ideals from MGS2, the meta commentary is that they didnt stick so whats the point? and the new Raiden is the Raiden the "fans" wanted him to be, this super "badass" http://www.metagearsolid.org/reports_mgs4_soldout_inter.html I went from thinking MGS4 being a clusterfuck of shit, to now one of my favorites, its surprising how accurate it and well written it is when you play the game with all that stuff in that link in mind. Also MGR is fucking amazing and everyone should get it.
Still pissed that Japan was the only place to get the solid snake spirit sword
Just bought it, I've wanted to game for a while
70 hours. Bought it twice (once on Xbox 360 and once on PC). Really fucking good. If you don't finish it on revengeance with the wooden sword you're a shit.
I desperately want a sequel starring Jetstream Sam.
I don't think it should star Sam, it should just star Raiden again, but have Sam come back as more of an ally/friendly rival.
I want a sequel with Gray Fox cos he's coo. Maybe set before MGS1, or perhaps he got rebuilt again.
I don't think it should star Sam, it should just star Raiden again, but have Sam come back as more of an ally/friendly rival.
I find Sam to be a much more fun and interesting protagonist, and I really want to play as him with a fully fleshed out moveset. The game is significantly less entertaining without the ability to chop things to bits.
I find Sam to be a much more fun and interesting protagonist, and I really want to play as him with a fully fleshed out moveset.
A prequel spinoff with Sam would be cool. Before and after he became a cyborg.
I'd love a full MGR game with Sam.
I wonder if it will run on my core 2 duo :A:
My old PC was running a c2d E8400 and a GT430, absolutely no problems at med-high settings at 1080.
Got it on sale. I've been wanting to get MGR:R for a while and have watched all the major boss fights, but mostly kept myself in the dark about the story. Just finished playing it on normal and it only took me like 4 hours. Really fun game and I think it'll replace Batman for when I want to mindlessly slice things up.
Does it contain spoilers from any previous mgs games? I'm playing through Snake Eater right now and I'm not sure whether I should buy revengeance now or wait for the next sale
Does it contain spoilers from any previous mgs games? The game's standalone entirely yet it expects you to of played MGS4 at least for the general gist of a few things from what I can tell. Keep in mind my installation's not done yet so I can't say for sure, just guessing off of various information I've seen.

If you don't have a PS3 for MGS4, you can read the novelization by Project Itoh. You should probably buy Revengeance now. If you really want to play it, play the DLCs before you play 4.

A couple of references to plot points here and there, but nothing like a massive plot twist is spoiled or something dumb if I remember. The game is near enough free standing if it didn't have a reference to SOP or Raidens past. It's nothing particularly spoiler-y though.
I decided to buy it. Looks fun.
