I've been replaying it too. Remake it for the PS3 and I'll buy a PS3 just for that.

I think it still holds up pretty well... except for the pre-rendered cutscenes. Everyone just looks so... weird. Especially people's faces. Still love it though.

FF9 felt more like one of the old 2D Final Fantasies imagined in 3D, as opposed to an evolution of the series, like the others.

Reminded me the most of FF4, actually.

I imagine it would be possible but only on Blu-ray at the minute. Even then I imagine it would take more than one disc if they intend to continue the trend of having orgasmically detailed pre-rendered cutscenes considering the enormous amount of content in it.
