Go on...
Pure hanzo steel.
This sounds like a really fun idea, especially if boats are implemented. Break a dam, and suddenly the team that was relying more on ground vehicles is screwed.
Migrate your stats and unlocks from Battlefield 3 to Battlefield 4
This seems somewhat foolish, what if I'm max level on BF3 am I instantly going to be max on 4?
They shouldn't. CoD MP feels like a joke because of all the unnatural weapons and skins in there nowadays. Sure it's fun but it ruins the style. Arguably the same thing happened to TF2, although that game could afford to make the wacky style its own. The moment I see a pink camo for a Battlefield gun I'm going to quit the series.
The Battlepacks and the melee stuff sounds pretty bad, but the naval warfare and prototype weapons sounds great.
No katanas thanks. I'd love more interactive maps, this stuff sure sounds cool but I have my doubts it will be implemented, at least in the way we're thinking (remember the amazing destruction? Yeah...).
It's sound more awesome than it actually is.
honestly, what the fuck, floods, cutting power off, car alarms, is this a single player stealth game? please wake me when it has square maps with two bases and control points all over, or it isn't a fucking battlefield game
So you would actually want them to just rehash everything? There will no doubt be classic gamemodes as well as others that accommodate these new changes.
i guess it would be ok with a wakizashi instead of a huge ass katana
Migrate your stats and unlocks from Battlefield 3 to Battlefield 4
They might just aswell unlock every weapon for everyone from the start then.
Guys the survey is real by the way. I did it the other day and they're also going to remake the BF3 maps in the new engine.
I don't recall BF3 having maps that are so damn memorable to be even remade.
I really hope they'd make a naval expansion pack, I really want a game with modern ships (and submarines too, hopefully)
They might just aswell unlock every weapon for everyone from the start then.
They should do it, I hate grinding for weapons and equipment, or they should at least make the gadgets/special equipment(MAV,EOD Bot, defibrillator etc...) unlocked from start. I wonder how dynamic battlefields will work, they will surely need to increase the size of the maps because I can't see how blowing up a dam in BF3 sized maps not flood the entire map. What I really want is a map with naval combat, open fields for tank combat and dense urban towns with detailed interiors and big buildings. (Buildings with the size of BF3:CQ maps)
So you would actually want them to just rehash everything?
To be honest I don't want BF4 at all, it seems so unnecessary
It would be sweet having a map with an urban area in some low lands. Then a flood would just turn it into rooftops or second stories. Snipers and mortar teams could hiding and the buildings.
This reeks of optional microtransactions
I'd rather have customizeable characters you have to pay for than have everyone look the exact same
Yeah after the atrocity that was BF3 I will never buy another BF game again
I'd rather have customizeable characters you have to pay for than have everyone look the exact same
I'd rather have a bunch of free different ways to customize my character. Kinda like Rainbow six Vegas 2 did.
I might just get this.
This reeks of optional microtransactions
feels more like ME3 MP boxes to me.
Did that survey have TITAN mode in it?
This seems somewhat foolish, what if I'm max level on BF3 am I instantly going to be max on 4?
Depends on how much new stuff they add, they could add 20+ new weapons for every class apart from what is already in BF3 and then you still have stuff to unlock even if you were a colonel 100. [editline]15th May 2013[/editline]
feels more like ME3 MP boxes to me.
I think that's what they meant when it compared it to ME3. It kinda sounds like they are going to go really all out with BF4. Maybe they tested the waters with BF3 and they are gonna go big with BF4.
Guys the survey is real by the way. I did it the other day and they're also going to remake the BF3 maps in the new engine.
Back to Karkand, please. Again.
Back to Karkand, please. Again.
No thanks. Back to Karkand was terrible. They took the old maps and put them in an engine with a much bigger draw distance, keeping the maps the same size. You could see everyone on the entire map, and since your guns are so accurate you can easily snipe them and kill them in one hit. Getting sniped over and over again from across the entire map = not fun, i'd rather just play the original BF2 maps in BF2.
The only B2K map I didn't like was Wake because realtalk for a sec Wake has never been a good Battlefield map.

But yea, Wake Island sucks.
I wonder how they are going to implement flooding. Water physics seems kinda like a cool idea but wouldn't that be hard to do from a technical standpoint if you were trying to make water react to players and stuff? Or would small areas and buildings be sunken or something?

If these ideas are implemented into BF4, I will for be buying this. Also I hope sea ware fare expanction is true, loved using ships in BF1942. So much fun.
The only B2K map I didn't like was Wake because realtalk for a sec Wake has never been a good Battlefield map.
Wake Island was the best map of all the maps, every map in BF2.
I just hope that flooding the map or cutting power will be something not everyone can do (as in, when the round starts / first X minutes), i imagine that enough people would instantly take their tanks to some dam or power station to blow it up for no reason.
I forgot which battlefield it was but one map had the whole base as an drivable ship cruiser and if it got destroyed your team would re-spawn in the shitty beachhead, it could be a great griefing tool or you could steer it near the enemy teams base and everyone jump on the side turrets
The newer Call of Duties tried to do stuff like this aswell, but it's not exactly well implemented.
In BO2 it's just an environmental hazard like the train in that TF2 map.
