That's not really quitting.
why would I say no to free metal that I turn into keys and can sell via paypal whenever I please? Idling doesn't even involve any gameplay, heck these days it's just a black screen
I swear the game really is just hats at this point lol.

as soon as you stop opening tf2 then you have quit tf2
"i quit playing tf2 but i still launch it every night so i can get free stuff" is not quitting
also lmao if all you even do is idle then you are complaining about an update that INCLUDES MORE FREE STUFF FOR YOU TO GET AND SELL
TF2 is fun
I'm happy they keep supporting it
I do feel there is too many hats and weapons, and lots of bugs go unnoticed, but I still love playing it
i remember when i made a thread on FP about quitting TF2 after a major trading update

look how that turned out
keep complaining, folks, you are still going to play tf2 and you're going to like it just as much after whining about the hats for three days just like i did
Im not gonna keep playing TF2 because it turned into a piece of shit right around the 2nd medic update and went F2P.
All the good servers are ruined, the games filled with children and mlp bullshit everywhere, items are so retarded, the game is actually Pay2Win to a point(you can buy the degreaser/Spicicle/Ubersaw) oh but dont worry, they randomly drop, out of all the other bullshit you might get those.
TF2 is just a test subject for Dota 2.
I dunno what kinds of servers you've been on, but I just join valve servers and there are actually a lot of good players who don't spew crap.
you see, unlike you, i actually did quit because TF2 is a bloated piece of shit now.
it's just not fun, it's Economy Simulator 2013 (with guns)
It was way more fun when they initially released the class updates without all of the hat bullshit. As soon as they finished all 9 updates, the game was complete in my eyes. It's just needlessly bloated and not fun, because it was a game of strategy before. Now it's a game of 'guess which weapon the enemy have and try to use a better one'
Must not be playing on the right servers, i rarely see people begging for a trade, and most of the economy stuff is in the background. The base game is pretty much fine, only reason i don't play as much now is because i got bored of the game.
I miss pre-hat TF2, but TF2 isn't that bad in its current state. It's still a fun game, you just need to play on the right servers if you want to avoid trade spam.
they are aware that people who sink lots of money into a F2P game are statistically less likely to quit it since that'd make their money spent on virtual items "a waste". So they really don't have to do anything but half assed updated for the rest of TF2's lifespan
That would explain the 6 people that still play Tribes Ascend

I stopped playing TF2 a while back, it has nothing to do with content updates (Although people bitching about content updates is pretty damn annoying), it has to do with the fact that the gameplay just got really boring after 700+ hours on the same few maps.
That and all the local servers around here suck, there's only a few that aren't tweaked to hell and back (A 24/7 2fort furry server with crits disabled? no thanks, etc.)
I wish they could improve the performance.
Since some months after the Meet The Medic, my FPS dropped hard, and now, the best that I can get is 60.

Why would you need more than 60 fps?
Why would you need more than 60 fps?
Because a drop from 120 to 90 FPS when things get heavy isn't noticeable
A drop from 60 to 30 FPS is.
I'd maybe play again if they added just one new map or just one new weapon, but I'm doubting that will ever happen again.
I hate the game because it's an unoptimized piece of shit.
I remember the time when the server lost connection to the item server and BAM! 40 fps more. And I've got a mid-high end computer!
TF2 is the game I go back to when I get bored of everything else.
Usually I'll play it until the new releases come out.
This idea that hats ruined the game is preposterous.

Clean for well over a year now.
It's prime is well past. I don't need to rehash what previous people have said, but the game is massively bloated (what was once 2-3GB is now 16GB+) and the gameplay has just become mushy. What was once a game about class balance and counters, where a bad X player could still beat a good Y player if the class combo was right - it's now a game where everyone has a weapon to give them instant-kill crits for doing random shit. Oh, and everyone gets an anti-spy weapon. :v:
I have no regrets and I well await the next FPS to replace the joy I once found in TF2.
