surely its not because this is a dumb lazy reward!!!
Really? Really? Would you have preferred they send a dude dressed in a plumbob suit to your home to be all like "YOU BOUGHT SIMS 3 YOU MAGINIFICENT PERSON" and he gives you a complimentary blowjob? Would that have been satisfactory? [editline]2nd August 2014[/editline]
I'm more upset about the lack of the open no-loading-screen-in-between-neighborhoods gameplay we wont be getting. It's a step down from Sims 3, and Sims 2 just isn't very enjoyable to me after playing it. While it's a step up from 2, it's a step down from 3.
Frankly, if the new open world system in 4 means that the game will run better and there will be less boring deserted parts of town, I'm all for it.
surely its not because this is a dumb lazy reward!!!
a reward for what
The thing is, TS3's open world was actually pretty demanding, even with all the shortcuts they took like most sims not actually doing anything most of the time, or sims only starting to populate community lots when one of yours goes there.
I think the more limited settings in 4 will actually help that, because they can probably just load the entire section and run it so the entire segment is lively vs. just where you're looking.
this particular thing isn't bad. Kinda cool to do something like that in-game for longtime fans. This doesn't make up for the terrible business model though
Honestly I wish more games did this kind of thing. It's just a neat little addition to games. For instance, owning Just Cause 2 gives you an outfit in Sleeping Dogs. (though I won't get in to the mess that is sleeping dogs dlc) And then you can do really mindtrippy things like when Psycho Mantis in Metal Gear "reads your mind" by reading your save files.
You can be defending EA by saying they'll end up releasing the pools for free anyway; we're complaining because its not in on release.
