Even though I haven't touched MW3 in over a month, I will definitely not be making my way back into the games multiplayer during that weekend.
The MW games have the worst free weekends. All it is is a free chance to hack and piss people off more than they already are.
Might as well try it and see if it really is MW2/black ops all over again.

It is with minor changes.
ipass
eh
it's a 60 dollar game you'll get to play for free
Might as well.
wow those are two words I'd never thought I'd see in the same sentence: "Activision" and "Free"
wow those are two words I'd never thought I'd see in the same sentence: "Activision" and "Free"
they have dozens of free weekends
even if they are just excuses for people to try out the latest and coolest aimbot.
I'm gonna try it out but only because I've never played Modern Warfare before.
These are the only times when people who are even worse at Call of Duty than I am are on.
I'll give this a punt, it'll set my mind at rest that it really is just a blatant copy
ahahHAHAHA
14 gigabytes
Prepare for hackers everywhere.

why the fuck is it so big?
why the fuck is it so big?
Need the room for retextured guns. Stripes n' shit yo
no thanks i dont want ur shitty free weekend.
[editline]14th February 2012[/editline]
bcause i already bought it.
If it's on sale for a reasonable price, I might get it.
I've played every CoD so far, I only live once and I want to play the campaign.
The game is extremely fun and you'd be a fool to miss out.
Not sure if troll or just...
Even though Modern Warfare 3 is just cinematic scenes throughout, the multiplayer can be kinda fun.
Was playing with the thought to check it out.
Then I realized I only had this thought because of how polarizing the title is, not because I'm genuinely interested in it whatsoever. And then I read it's 14 gigs big.
Naaaaah. Especially because I predict a certain community that will be happier than usual because of all the noob influx.
eh why not, i kinda want to try it, and there is no way im paying 100$ for it
I don't even have time to play the games I do have and that 14GB size is a bit unwanted right now.
seriously why is it 14 gigabytes
did they just pre-make the DLC this time just to unlock it later?
I really do want to know why they felt the need to make the multiplayer part 14 gigs. What on earth even contributes the most to that file size? I'd have to imagine sounds are a good portion of it.
[editline]15th February 2012[/editline]
Kind of funny how it gives me the option to "Pre-Order" the game.

It's 14gb because you have to download the full game (singleplayer, spec ops, et all) just to play the MP. Even though CoD games split themselves up in your Steam list, the SP and MP are both the same (just a different launch exe).
So that's why you have to download 14gb of game. I'll play the free-weekend, because CoD multiplayer is a fun casual thing, but I'll skip buying this one. I'll probably buy another one down the road. I had my fun with Black Ops, but honestly it wasn't worth $60 for just 50 hours of MP alone.
Unless you have usage caps there's really no reason not to try it out
Thanks Activision I guess (I feel weird saying this)
I own Black Ops and have watched my friend play MW2 (PS3) and MW3 (360) allot, CoD has definitely been going downhill since CoD4. It's not just that every other person on the internet has a disdain for CoD (even the ign review mentions "people love hating it").
Meanwhile PC still doesn't have access to Elite.
