Its not that easy, best example I tried emulating the ps2 version of liberty city stories and it runs like shit on a i5 and gtx 660.

Backwards compability would mean having to literally optimize and port a ton of xbox 360 games so it runs on the current architecture no one is up for such a big job. Sony is gonna give that a try with their most popular games and such on the ps4. Well see how it turns out.
