I thought I was alone. No, I actually really like it a lot better too, at least in terms of story. I can't actually speak for the gameplay because it's been a long time since I played either, but there's no doubt that Pacific has much more interesting and unique characters. A great main menu too.
I never liked Pacific Assault or Rising Sun. I guess I never liked the Japanese part of WWII. In my opinion, MOHAA and it's expansions are the best PC WWII games, but MOH:Frontline for consoles was even better. It redid some of the levels from MOHAA only in higher quality and better level design, along with a good story arch. The ending was adequate, but the core of the game was amazing.
I never liked Pacific Assault or Rising Sun.
I honestly don't care much for Rising Sun either, but I don't think it's the aesthetic as much as the map design being really terrible for anyone on the offensive (and on a few cases the defensive) that wants to do something besides shoot out in the open and pray that they don't get hit.
They put Hidden and Dangerous 2 on there? holy crap, I thought I was the only guy who played that game.
I totally forgot H&D 2 existed. Does anyone know of a way to get it? Couldn't find it on Steam or GOG.
MoW goes more with CoH than WoT despite having fairly detailed tank damage
CoH actually deserves a spot on the list though.
One of my favorite WW2 games that doesn't seem to get much notice whatsoever has to be the saboteur. I fucking loved that game.
cod:waw? wot? Really?
Ever played it? It's actually pretty amazing. Back when developers gave a fuck, it had a fucking coop campaign you could play through in splitscreen.

My mate and I bought it to play through together, we got through a few levels then quit and went for lunch, came back and it was just like "lol start from the start again"
Where is my Battlefield ninteen fourty-fucking-two?
I think Big Red One should be on there somewhere but i'm pretty satisfied with WaW being there instead.
I'm glad H&D2 made it on there, but I'll always have a soft spot for the original and its expansion, Devil's Bridge, even if they were a complete mess. It was the first game my dad and I played together, tag teaming missions and helping each other plan routes and ways to tackle objectives.
I totally forgot H&D 2 existed. Does anyone know of a way to get it? Couldn't find it on Steam or GOG.
I remember playing the demo and I was hooked. So I looked all over and I couldn't find it outside of ordering it for like 20 bucks. But one day I stumbled upon it at a gamestop for 1 dollar. When I bought it the cashier just looked at me and said "That game has been sitting on that shelf for the past decade".

That's weird. I wouldn't know, though, I beat it in a solid beginning-to-end playthrough with a friend. At least they tried, though? [editline]31st October 2014[/editline]
I think Big Red One should be on there somewhere but i'm pretty satisfied with WaW being there instead.
Big Red One was a console-exclusive game. One with a shit control scheme, at that.
I wish I actually knew how to play HoE. Seems like a fun game once you know how to actually play it.
sniper elite 2 and WaW are pretty good I've not the ww2 game experience to judge it though
Out of all of the WW2 FPS games I have played through the years I would still say Red Orchestra Ostfront 41-45 is the best I have ever played. Hell, it's one of the best MP games ever created. It's a perfect balance between a sense of realism and hardcore trial by fire gameplay, but still maintaining a sense of fun.
War Thunder is fun, but I feel like if we're going to include one WWII flight-sim it should be IL-2. (Especially since half the new jets they're adding are post-war anyway)
I don't see WW2 Online on that list.
No Call of duty: united offence!
"Here's a list of the first games that dropped when we googled "PC WW2 games" please give us ad revenue"
Battlefield 1942 should be on that list, and Forgotten Hope.
Day of Defeat was a neat competitive shooter set in WW2, it is pretty underrated in my opinion. It plays very fast and smooth. It should have been on that list.
why the fuck is world at war on that list, that's supposed to be world war I first of all and two, Call of Duty 2 was a way better game than WAW
why the fuck is world at war on that list, that's supposed to be world war I first of all and two, Call of Duty 2 was a way better game than WAW
Because we definitely fought the Japanese during World War 1.
why the fuck is world at war on that list, that's supposed to be world war I first of all and two, Call of Duty 2 was a way better game than WAW
I know right, i am sure the Russian's invaded Berlin twice in just a few years notice.
Men of War should be on there. Its campy (and quite terrible acting and music) add to the charm of the game, and it has some damn fine gameplay which just got better with the squeals. And in what other game can you steal a tractor and use it to steal AT guns? Or do shit like this
Doesn't even have COD 1 in it. I am dissapoint. I fucking loved playing that when I was younger.
Am I the only one here who prefers Medal of Honor Pacific Assault?
Allied Assault for me beats everything else, it was Saving Private Ryan the video game, Mission 3 level 1 is the reason i bought the game and it ingrained an ever lasting impression that's still with me now, i can play through the level in my head that's how great it was. Pacific Assault in comprison was a great game but i don't remember any of it. World of Tanks, War Thunder and Hearts of Iron 3 are not the games i'd put in a top 10, in fact WaW shouldn't be either. Commandos 2, CoD/CoD:UO should be, i could argue that Men of War should be up there but i won't kid myself, it was always in the shadow of CoH despite it being a vastly different RTS game. 1942 was always in the shadow of Allied Assault, Day of Defeat was not in the same league either, in fact as much as i don't think it was that great in comparison to it's predecessor, i can't say CoD2 did not have the biggest impact of recent years. It's that one game that got every fucker interested in CoD and by extension is the reason CoD is the biggest thing on the globe right now. H&D is still on my laptop now and i play it from time to time that's how much i love it, but i can't say it's one of the best ever it's more of a cult classic. But obviously lists are all opinions and this one's not bad.
No Enemy Territory? Bad list.
Not sure why they choose brothers in arms hells highway as it was more of a shitting on its pretty nice predecessors...
