Any thing with Semi In depth weapon customization is good enough for me.
What's the netcode like? Don't need to download another shooter if the netcode is worse than Quake 1...
I find it pretty good. I'm lvl21 and for the most part it's balanced. (Except the Heavy Assault Rifle, fuck that)
The only gripes I have is the pricing model. There are some items that are really fucking expensive, GP wise (the free currency) and real money wise (Zen)
It's not common for a piece of armor to cost $7.50 and there are some items in the store that can only be obtained via a chance pack, which is bullshit since it's $1 a pop.

the RL7-Swarm cost me 11000 GP (permanent), getting a max of 150 GP per game and 100 on average. Do the math.
Any good or is it just another combat arms type game?
If you've played Blacklight: Tango Down which is also on Steam, this is like the sequel/MMO followup.
Theres an event going on where you get 500 GP per 100 kills and a high level helmet for 1k kills. Time to farm noobs.
this game is actually surprisingly fun and enjoyable
the art style is also spot on, reminds me of Blade Runner with a hint of Deus Ex a bit
Less, you can get perma weapons in way, way less time than Tribes.
There's more things in this game you have to buy though than in Tribes. Tribes doesn't have individual attachments and all that.
In Tribes, once you get whatever weapon you're going for, that's all you need.
The only thing I don't really like about this game is the funky recoil.
Seriously, fuck the funky recoil.

Still it doesn't take as long as Tribes when you're going for a full weapon imo.
Nowhere NEAR as long as tribes, I might add. I bought a permanent revolver (<3) after like 4 hours of play

you just have to hold yourself away from buying one day stuff after every match
UI is utter crap.
Wallahcks are a feature.
Gunplay sometimes seems wonky.
Biggest problems this far.
but you can't shoot during "Wallhacks" and it takes like a second to activate/deactivate?
If anything it increases the game pace as you don't have to find people.
Big word of advice, play on the lvl1-10 servers. I just went 28/2 on an all levels server. It was just a slaughter.
I quite liked this game in the beta...except for the dubstep soundtrack.
Downloading...
I wouldn't call that dubstep, but I personally didn't mind it, it fit the theme of the game really well.
If you don't like the music you can always turn it off...
yeah well having a good soundtrack is preferable to not having music at all
If you don't like the music you can always turn it off...
Yeah, that's what I did in the beta, and what I plan to do now.

The UI and gunplay are a bit.. Odd, I agree. It feels like a console shooter reworked to PC, despite the fact that, well, it's not. Half the time it feels like, even with a low recoil and low spread weapon, my SMG misses for the sake of missing, even if the target's standing still. That could be ping, though.
The HRV, or 'wallhacks', are actually kind of tactical. Lasts about two-three seconds, takes a bit to recharge, leaves you open while using it. Helps spot enemies, though, and figure out ways to cut them off or ambush them; if you don't use the HRV judiciously and carefully, you're gonna get flanked or surprised a hell of a lot.
Although for how fast the players die, a nine-ten second respawn time for all gamemodes, including Team Deathmatch, seems to be a bit much.
Actually there's an item called the HRV Blackout that projects a field which makes you invisible to the HRV. No one uses it though. I've only seen it once or twice and I'm lvl21
I for one am loving this game. Just played it for like three hours straight, got a ton of stuff permanently unlocked already.
I have to say, for an F2P that graphics aren't bad at all.
Gameplay looks a bit generic from the videos, but I'm not going to put full faith into that until I play it.

Screenie I took earlier, the game does look rather nice, especially in action.
Finally on Steam, and it looks pretty good for a free-to-play.

Are you kidding? HRV helps force people to play tactically, and pretty much eliminates unfamiliarity with new maps, not to mention it deters camping.
I wouldn't hesitate to call this the best f2p fps I have ever played.
The EU server is full and I get 500 ping on the US one, why aren't there more servers? Didn't the devs have a bit of foresight and upgraded a little before putting it on steam?
i was in the beta, this game is actually good. the customization owns. problem is, it uses the rental system. plus side, the permanent buying isnt that expensive, it's like 20 matches for a permanent reciever (gun type basically, smg, sniper, etc), attachments are usually pretty cheap depending on how much they affect the gun. you also get free stuff for a week or whatever when you level up, along w/ these cool things to stick to your gun
It's not necessarily pay2win but buying shit does help.
I made a lvl1 account and went 21/10 with the base gear.
Played for about an hour, only ranked up once and got about 500 of whatever the currency is called. Seems like a decent F2P game but the shooting is a little off and I still don't know how I feel about the built in wall hacks.
Can't say how pay2win it is so far since I luckily seem to be dying to people using my stuff, though I did run into one dude who was completely pimped out and had an orange gun and title. He went 24-3.
Could be really good, could be bombing on noobs like me, or could be pumping cash into an FPS so he can pretend he's good. Hard to say .
He's probably just good. Gun parts only change the stats a bit, nothing big like Stopping Power in CoD. Maybe add 1-2 damage, decrease the spread by 1%, something like that.
The default rifle isn't that bad, just the scope sucks.
Man, this game is actually really good. Always was interested in it, but never really got to it. Figured i'd download it today. I'm in love :D
