Like how they put "Mass Effect Series" so they could sneak ME2 and 3 on the list. IMO apart from the first game the other 2 games aren't very RPG like apart from going around talking to people.
Should have just put ME1 since it has more RPG elements than the other 2 combined.
I still think ME1 is by far the best one. It just feels like so much passion was put in.
ME2 is amazing but it feels much more like a PRODUCT than the first one. And we all know ME3, don't we?
Arcanum is seriously one of my all time favorite RPGs. I still load it up occasionally to play because it is just that good and that much fun.
"What, you want HOW much for that gun? Excuse me, what time will you be sleeping tonight? Nothing to worry about, but I think I'll be taking these lockpicks."

I agree. It is a little rough around the edges in some places but it's got heart and isn't full of dumbed down boring bullshit like the other 2.
LETS REPLACE PLANET EXPLORING WITH PROBE LAUNCHING! EXCITING!
Hey. Came in here expecting rage rage and gtfo. Didn't get it. Feel weirdly disappointed. Thanks for not being horrible at us.

I thought the writing in general was far superior in two, though you are right that I've never forgiven them for getting rid of the mako. Goddamn Bioware.
Fuck was System Shock 2

I'd say that it was a pretty good list overall, especially since it doesn't have Skyrim like literally every other list does.
Anachronox seems interesting. Might have to give it a try.
You might have noticed how the article didn't really mention the gameplay at all.
That's because it sucks.
It's pretty funny though, if you can get past the horrible gameplay.
where the fuck is Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden?
lol
no ff7
lol, mass effect
just fuck right off with that
lol
no ff7
I thought FF7 had a shit ass pc port.
I thought FF7 had a shit ass pc port.
It did. Gross MIDI sound.
I'm outraged that I haven't played most of these, damn.
lol

i always thought ff7 is heavily overrated
like, i know it was improtant but far from "the best" category
I'm almost done with Lonesome Road and I'm loving it so far. Old World Blues, while annoying in difficulty, was hilarious and I loved it.
Dead Money sucked though. Honest hearts was kinda... meh? I dunno, Honest hearts pisses me off in the same way that Point Lookout pissed me off. You're a goddamn tribalman, you should not be able to one-hit me in ranger combat armor with a fucking baseball bat. Furthermore, you're fucking half naked, you also shouldn't be able to take hand-loaded 45-70 to the face and still have time to one-hit me.
honest heart sucked dicks the story didnt stick at all, the exploring was weak and the dialogue outside of the main storyline was nearly non existant
well, theres always system shock 2
and bioshock
Nice list, but I hated the Witcher 2.
Dark Souls is incredible though and Fallout New Vegas is a game I recommend that ANYONE mature enough to deal with some of the darker themes.
As much as I love Torchlight. It doesn't go on that list. At best, 15.
well, theres always system shock 2

I never thought of Bioshock as an RPG.
[sp]In fact a big part of it is how you have little to no freedom compared to games like Deus Ex and System Shock 2.[/sp]

Everyone had daddy issues in ME2.
Shadowrun should not be as low as that, neither Mass Effect.
Why New Vegas is above them all, i have no bloody clue.
Planescape, Baldur's Gate, KOTOR and Morrowind in the Top 5. I'm okay with this.

I liked dead money though, although it was a little too linear it was basically follow the waypoint to victory, however the reward for completing it was amazing.
I came in not expecting torment to be number one.
Turns out it's actually a good list, for the most part.
While this list is in no particular order, Planescape: Torment still deserves to be at the top.
its not 1st to 15th
Read the list expecting the usual cop out of having the PC ports of Final Fantasy 7 and 8 high up. Was pleasantly surprised to find neither of them there. Due to the mixed reception it got, was surprised to Shadowrun Returns there as well.
I guess I never really considered Warband to be a rpg, I always saw it as a medieval mercenary simulator with rpg elements. That being said there are 2 types of people in the world, those who think mount and blade is one of the best games ever made and those who havent played it.
well, theres always system shock 2

Bioshock pretty much marked the end of the "RPG" era of that series.
