Pretty good list, but I would probably take off Shadowrun Returns for System Shock 2.
Maybe replace Shadowrun Returns with Neverwinter Nights. I never played NWN but I hear it has the same concept of just living off of UGS.
I've yet to fully grasp D&D RPGs. I wanna do a playthrough of Baldur's Gate during my downtime, but it's all so intimidating.
Neverwinter Nights and Gothic are missing.
NWN (not the mmo) is the classic translation of D&D 3.5 rule set with a vibrant mod community and good support for at home DMs. One might argue NWN is of the same vein of Balder's Gate but it evolved so much that they should be considered separate.
I haven't personally played Gothic I&II but I only heard good things about it with a minor exception of graphics.
I'm just gonna throw this out there as someone who is a huge Fallout and Deus Ex fan and not a very big DnD person:
Planescape: Torment is literally the best RPG ever.
Its on my to-do list
I honestly wish I had no backlog and there were no new games coming out for a good 6mo and I had no school because I'd totally pop it in and try it then
Deus Ex and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines are on the list? Wow, I'm impressed. Those are the two that instantly come to mind for me when someone says "Best RPGs Ever." Deus Ex is definitely #1 on my "Favorite Games of All-Time" list.
Deus Ex was number one for me for the longest time but honestly, if we are talking best game of all time, the kind of game that is truly timeless when you play it and has a real impact in the experience you get when playing it and in the design of the game, I'd probably say Shadow of the Colossus just barely sneaks its way into the #1 spot for me.
Only problem is that it is PS2 exclusive. Though you could get it on the PS3 with the HD-port they did of it.
Seriously though if you have a PS2/PS3, get Shadow of the Colossus. Its truly a triumph in design, looks beautiful despite its age (how they managed to push those visuals on the PS2 is beyond me), and is profound in its impact when you play it. Of course its not everyone's cup of tea, but if you have any kind of appreciation for 3rd person action games but at the same time love exploration then you'll love it.

SoTC is my favorite game of all time. Which is really weird for me because I just don't play consoles anymore. But holy shit, everything about that game just nails it for me. I absolutely adore everything about it.
Also, dragons are way less annoying to deal with than oblivion gates, and take less time to deal with, too.
the biggest problem that i had with oblivion was the horrid looking people and bugs. i remember the first time i stepped outside of the sewers and this song was playing.

i was getting super immersed in the world and then i saw a guard in the distance getting stuck on a rock which then proceeded to fling him into the stratosphere. oblivion can't keep you immersed in the world for more than 5 minutes. it is the worst elder scrolls game
