Fourteen years outside of Japan.

And it's still popular and many people still play it and love it. You don't have to buy them.
Well, seems like a complete WTF, but this could be fun.
Dodrio-mounted spearmen, anyone?

Why do they have Pokéballs on their outfits?
I thought it was p. clear that Pokéballs were actually a fairly recent discovery?

It'd be neat if all the Pokemon in the game had human counterparts
Now make a WW2 version. With Hitler's team having a Koffing in it, of course.
If I recall correctly, the really old prototypes to Pokeballs in the show were more along the lines of phylacteries than things you physically put creatures into.
And the stuff stored in those were... well, not quite your everyday battle monsters.
Look at that boxart.
That warlord with the Jigglypuff is so fucked.
Correction, those legendaries are fucked.
Wow, the characters look really copied from the Samurai Warriors franchise.
A lot of the warriors are from that franchise.
These were REAL warlords, they're popular today and in many different games, like Dynasty Warriors.
Nobunaga's Ambition is also a series, and this game is the resulting crossover.
And Nobunaga gets Zekrom AND Black Rayquaza.
Actually I really like the idea, japanese history is really interesting regardin the different clans. Especially Nobunaga who introduced musket in the professional military.
But to blend with Pokemons is a bit weird though.

Because they are. This is a Koei-Nintendo crossover.

They had technology to control them long before that, remember the Arceus movie?
OUR POKEMON ARE RUNNING FROM THE BATTREFIERD
A SHAMEFUR DISPRAY
The guy on the upper right is that fucking dude from Assassins Creed.
So will we be able to sneak behind pokemon and slash their necks open? I would like to see that.
