the "first version" any good? I absolutely loved the demo of this
Many will just outright tell you that the first one is superior, but we'll just have to see about that.
I don't know about you, but for me splitscreen always ended up comedic disaster.

I remember playing Halo: Combat Evolved in coop. Constantly murdering your team mate for his ammo.
The whole PC only team deathmatch mode is kind of crap. You don't get PC gaming to be treated fairly by witholding content from people just because they have a different system.

It's really good but it has it's problems.
Game does not feel very stealthy for me, there seemed to be no way to avoid the Germans other than to just kill then all.
Other times they just know you're there too.
The guns don't feel realistic at all and why am I carrying a Thompson around? Game feels very arcadey.
It's also 3rd person which is another gripe for me, though not important.
From what I played in the demo, it just feels like a one path system and you're pushed into follow just a specific direction, I tried sneaking through a broken window at the start to avoid the Germans but it wouldn't allow me to enter, I was basically forced to just kill all the soldiers.

from looking around the map, there are loads of blocked off alleyways, so by my thinking they blocked them off in the demo so people don't skip bits and get stuck cause they keep going down a harder route.

or ya know, it could be, linear corridor level design.
It's really good but it has it's problems.
The only real problem I've encountered so far is that movement feels weird.
Just sniped a guy and shattered both his testicles...I feel terrible now.

or ya know, it could not be seeing as the actual game isn't fucking out yet

First game wasn't very stealthy either, and besides you're better off killing people anyway. This isn't Splinter Cell.
Demo. You'll notice that second group of dudes you meet have no idea you're there even after you've killed one of them. You pretty much have to give away your position by shooting at them like a jackass before they zero in on your position.
What? They feel fine. Why the hell does it matter if he's carrying around a Thompson? No, it really doesn't. Maybe you should play on Elite.
It's 3rd person for a reason.
I'd guess that is because it's, oh I dunno, A DEMO LEVEL! They don't want you sneaking past everything because they want to showcase the SNIPING of their SNIPING game. I can't begin to count the number of demos I've played where they changed up an existing level for the demo but when you actually played it in the game it was different. I could be wrong but I doubt it.
I'm debating if I want to buy it. The gameplay is fantastic and it seems like a really fun game and worth the money. Well almost worth the money because the mouse controls are an abysmal piece of steaming horse shit.
Slower X axis sensitivity then Y axis ? What the fuck ? Can this console port be any more obvious ? And I know I can set it in the settings but even when I try and fine tune it as much as possible ( which is difficult ) it's still really, really, really bad.
Wow I thought you were going to be talking shite but my Y axis takes about five mouse pad lengths to move as much as one Y axis movement. Even after tuning it's not much better. Bizarre.

i was playing on elite while thompson is completely unrealistic. they feel fine in your opinion but not mine
so i'm going to go with this is going to be a killfest liner game rather than the stealth game. the theme of everything gives off a sniper behind enemy lines killing key targets yet obviously this guy doesn't care and just murders everyone why the germans are blissfully unaware their friends are dying down the street or are just retarded.

The man carries a bolt action sniper rifle and a pistol that needs to be pulled back after each shot. Of course he's going to carry an SMG as a secondary weapon, doesn't mean you have to use it.
Also you clearly haven't played the first one, you can use SMGs and even MGs in that one and make an attempt at simply massacring everybody in your path.
I loved the demo, played through three times now. Will almost certainly purchase.
I noticed there were a ton of alternate routes in the map, but none of them led anywhere. It really seems like they just blocked them off for the demo, because there are a bunch of places to creep around.
Am i the only one to have a binkw32.dll error ?
Am i the only one to have a binkw32.dll error ?
I had that at first, I just went into the demo folder and put the .dll in the bin folder.

I didn't know Deus Ex: Human Revolution had a ww2 DLC
Shooting people in the groin has never been so much fun (they can explode if you do it right)
I thought puns were banned, Shack News, you dog.
Wish it supported DirectX9. Wonder if the final game will support additional features not in the demo? Curious to see. Always thought part of Sniper Elite's charm was its unobtrusive visuals. They 'just worked' and kept you focused on the action, which was great...
I remember when I played this that I had shot a dude in the balls... That X-Ray Killcam confirmed it was his balls.. I did it two times.
There was one point in the demo where a guy was on top of a building prone. I shot at him, the wind pushed the bullet slightly to the right, and it ricocheted off the wall while spinning like crazy before going through his brain.
Preordered.

I have this same problem! I even mucked around with all in game settings, and the video card settings, and it's still yellow everywhere. Oddly, when the kill cam follows the bullet, everything around the bullet, in a circle shape, is yellow, yet everything outside the "circle" is correct. WTF?! Guess it'll be the 360 version of this game for me! lol
FIXED : I just updated the vid card drivers(duh), and problem solved! Pc version is very nice, despite slightly sluggish controls.
After a dozen retries later I realized this isn't a stealth game. :v:
I don't get why this game lags so much for me. I can run p.much every game there is with a high framerate

You need to upgrade.
They also weren't very good and imo haven't aged well at all. There's no shadows to speak of and everything looks fullbright.

Well, it kinda is and at the same time kinda isn't. It's more accurate at this point to say the demo isn't a stealth game until we get our hand on the full game.
I wish more developers went to the trouble of releasing demos, it really helps me decide whether I'm going to buy something or not.
A good demo is also a decent piracy deterrent. Sometimes you just want to see what the general gameplay is like or whether it'll even run on your computer without having to pay for it first.

Haven't played the other ones no, so what I was getting from this when I downloaded it was it would be a stealth orientated game (because since when do snipers run around with Thompson killing everyone they see?).
Game isn't for me.

Except you can't run around with a Thompson killing everything you see.
well I managed to, on sniper elite mode.
Started off and killed the sniper guy and just ran towards the enemy to get close, killed them with the thompson and picked up their MP's and carried on. I like the sniper tuning but thats about it, I was hoping for something with more realism. Will probably pick it up in a sale.
