Can someone PLEASE tell me why this game is "original"?
Sorry to say, but the game is from the same developers, looks exactly like CoD but with mechs and double jumps, and miraculously got numerous awards even when there are clearly more deserving games, all of those are traits of a cod game.
why does it seem alot like CoD? well, everything from the military-style sentence structure, to the mindless shooting(no cover needs to be taken, no teamwork required), to the EXACT SAME FONT FOR A KILL, to the lack of gameplay mechanics(again its entirely mindless shooting).
EDIT: in contrast, TF2 requires teamwork, deus ex:HR requires stealth and the use of upgrades and no mindless shooting, even halo has vehicles with different control schemes than on foot.

I've never seen a multiplayer military FPS that had a heavy gameplay focus on wallrunning, climbing and getting mechs dropped out of the sky for temporary tank-like player buffs
Were you looking for guns that shoot boiling honey and sticky bomb wasp grenades?

I don't look at CoD and see a 'bad' game - I see a game made up of both good and bad parts, some very commendable parts and some parts that are clearly awful. I think you ought to view it in the same way instead of listening to all the talk that tells you to hate anything to do with CoD indiscriminately. If you step back and actually look at it properly you'll have a much more informed view on which to base your opinions of it.
I look at CoD and I see a great base gameplay mechanic that CAN lend itself to teamwork based on the situation, I see a fast paced game, I see ongoing and fun rewards for the player if they can kill enough enemy players in a single life, I see a really nice and intuitive melee system, I see a great amount of multiplayer character customisation to suit the individual's play style. The fact that each game is very similar to the last and that there's not a lot of experimentation doesn't make these base things that I enjoy about the game any less great.
When I imagine a game of CoD multiplayer with wallrunning, ledge climbing and the ability to summon mechs to drop out of the sky, it feels very original and interesting. Layer on top of this that the game is set in a futuristic environment with an interesting art style and it feels more then original enough for me

when i imagine CoD, i imagine lots of bugs(cod 3 was the first i really played, i'm sure its changed though), i imagine bad storylines, and some ridiculously easy multiplayer without any differing game mechanics.
as for titanfall, it seems to be the next installation of CoD, which isn't a problem, except that it offers nothing new(and by nothing, i mean that mechs are exactly the same as walking) from it's predecessors
The thing we should be discussing is why MGSV didn't win.

Except you're completely ignoring the fact that Mechs are not 'exactly the same as walking' - throw a mech down into the battlefield and the level of danger along routes to certain objectives changes dramatically. Throw one down and suddenly the entire area surrounding the mech changes as both enemy and friendly players adapt their tactics to deal with the sudden appearance of firepower and armour.
You're also completely ignoring the athleticism that the infantry is capable of, which looks as though it adds a huge amount of vertical combat (for instance, you're no longer 'safe' if you're lying prone on the top of a building with your gun pointed a the only ladder) as well as much more interesting combat scenarios.

because flying whales, horrible music, and constant crawling out of a hospital from the first trailer set the tone for that game, and it hasn't recovered.
@Maloof I guess I'm probably biased against all mindless shooters, which is why this looks unappealing to me, but the fact is there's almost no difference between this and CoD. in CoD you call in helicopters and that changes the "tactics" the players use, and the additional feature they added in this CoD installment is wall-jumps.
Im really just a CoD hater and no good will come of this debate
no helicopters are a dumb and broken mechanic in cod whereas having two entirely different styles of shooter merged seamlessly into one PLUS freerunning mechanics is a fucking good idea and it shows. they showed off a really dynamic shooter that is a nice change from the slew of cod-likes that are released.
if you cant recognize its merit or differences just because of the team that made it then you're a fuckin fool im sorry but pls can you really be that blind

"Im really just a CoD hater and no good will come of this debate"
you even said it yourself. this is p much an admission of not being capable of rational thought

sounds like crysis 3's multiplayer
It has guns, it's exactly the same as Call of Duty.
These are the original Infinity Ward devs that left after COD4 so it might actually be good.
Hey, it's multiplayer only so it won't cost alot cause it'll cost production value by 60%, if not more.
Or will it...
because flying whales, horrible music, and constant crawling out of a hospital from the first trailer set the tone for that game, and it hasn't recovered.
Haha, what?

Because it's not like they showed a whole 15 minutes of gameplay before that trailer.
