Last I checked you are not required to follow the gay romance path so your poor little eyes won't have to be violated by it.
Even it was optional, it was still poorly written and incredibly awkward. Like some kind of fanfiction by a fangirl. I mean, I'm all for possible heterosexual relations in games, but come on.
Does story suck compared to ME2?
Does story suck compared to ME2?
Everything is fine up until the shitty endings.
Everything is fine up until the shitty endings.
Great. :(
i don't think a video game can be ruined by an awful ending, most games have shit endings anyway
i don't think a video game can be ruined by an awful ending, most games have shit endings anyway
Ahahahaha, you've yet to see Mass Effect 3 ending. It ruins not only the game, but the entire universe.
snip this post literally contradicted what i just said @jesteruk, i can understand being dissapointed in an ending, but not enough to make me dislike the rest of the product. that makes no sense to me
i don't think a video game can be ruined by an awful ending, most games have shit endings anyway
The entire series is built up to a conclusion that left everyone dissapointed and you can't see how that ruins things?
so it's like any other video game ending?
What other game have you played where they destroyed the foundation of their franchise?
assassin's creed revelations comes to mind but yeah sorry i edited my post, cus it made no sense [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] also silent hill homecoming, but i'm still a massive fanboy of the older games
I'm apparently a silly little drone for liking the game and the ending. Could someone explain to me what exactly ruined 'everything'? (Spoiler that shit though.)
snip this post literally contradicted what i just said @jesteruk, i can understand being dissapointed in an ending, but not enough to make me dislike the rest of the product. that makes no sense to me
It makes you feel like everything you've done up until then means absolutely nothing.
i haven't personally played it yet but from what i understand [sp]the reapers fucking wreck everything anyway[/sp] i could be totally wrong cus i haven't read any spoilers
It makes you feel like everything you've done up until then means absolutely nothing.
How so?
How so?
Simple, Mass Effect 2 is useless, throw it out the window. It only adds 100-110 assets. Mass Effect 3, [sp] No matter how much you worked to help all the species to work together, in the end, you only need to run toward the beam, take your ending and and blam, all mass relay are destroyed, the galaxy is stranded, everybody is fucked over, so all that time you spent helping and learning the other characters, you don't even have proper closure. you don't know what happens to them, don't know what they'll do in their new situation... [/sp]
How so?
Because for all that time I spent making peace between the Krogan and Turians, and the Geth and the Quarians (not to mention all the shit I did in the first two games) [sp]none of the endings offer an aftermath that keeps it that way[/sp]
Because for all that time I spent making peace between the Krogan and Turians, and the Geth and the Quarians (not to mention all the shit I did in the first two games) [sp]none of the endings offer an aftermath that keeps it that way[/sp]
Well, no. Mass Effect 1 was still useful because it gave everyone 3 years, and gave you more time to learn the characters you liked. Mass effect 1 delayed the inevitable, so it still is useful even with the endings.
i can't read the spoilers (well don't want to) but without ME2 you wouldn't know half of the main characters, so i wouldn't call that useless [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] i'm just gonna stop posting because it's hard to discuss what you don't know
Because for all that time I spent making peace between the Krogan and Turians, and the Geth and the Quarians (not to mention all the shit I did in the first two games) [sp]none of the endings offer an aftermath that keeps it that way[/sp]
How about the one that lets you[sp]control the Reapers (leftmost choice, the one which the Illusive Man tried)?[/sp]
ME 1 and 2 are completely useless, The choices you do doesen't matter. All they do is add some dumb war assets.... I've never seen a worse ending.
Seems Bioware never saw SW Episode 1, adding a child to a sci-fi franchise destroy's it's credibility.
Mass effect artstyle always hurts my eyes
Buying it for the gay sex scene
i can't read the spoilers (well don't want to) but without ME2 you wouldn't know half of the main characters, so i wouldn't call that useless [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] i'm just gonna stop posting because it's hard to discuss what you don't know
With the ending, all Mass Effect 2 and 3 characters, no all mass effect characters become obsolete.
Just to clarify, when you guys say the ending sucks are you talking about ALL the endings? Even the best one? Because nothing pisses me off more than a crap ending. I don't care how good the rest of it is if the ending is bullshit then it kills the game for me.
The only thing that really bugs me about this game is that the quality of the voice acting seems to have fallen significantly, as has the quality of the writing. Otherwise, I'm pretty good with it.

And it destroys the universe you put so many hours being immersed in.
The best ending does not even give you closure on what happens to all the characters you like. And it destroys the universe you put so many hours being immersed in.
How does it destroy the universe? Remember to spoiler tag though.
How does it destroy the universe? Remember to spoiler tag though.
[sp]All the Mass Relays are destroyed, it will take centuries before they are constructed back. Even with the Reapers if you CAN assume the shephard uses them to fix the universe (They leave Earth and that's it) The citadel can get destroyed, every species will crash down on Earth, Earth will be the new hub for the species, all ships are disabled, the world is pretty fucking fucked at this point.
