That ending... what the fuck just happened.
[sp] The crucible destroyed everything and everyone? Joker was the only survivor since the Normandy escaped and ended up crashing somewhere.[/sp] Pretty depressing ending.

Because not only is Bioware currently on par with Activision/IW in terms of utter laziness and complete lack of passion, it's also a horribly written game.
Have you seen the gay Shepard sex scene video? It's like it was written by Hepler herself.
Just so you know, the gamestop marketing was done on purpose. During the Walking Dead on AMC they showed that pic for ME3, they also showed the first preview of the launch trailer.
Done on purpose as in that was the whole point.
does anyone else not feel the urge to play through it dozens of times over like the last two games? i just started another playthrough, I'm at the first visit to the citadel as a vanguard and i'm already kind of bored. its sad really only after just 1 playthrough
The best ending does not even give you closure on what happens to all the characters you like. And it destroys the universe you put so many hours being immersed in.
The vibe I'm getting is that if I dump $60 on this game I'm really gonna regret it.

[sp]Joker wasn't the only one, at least not for me.
I got Tali (iirc), Garrus and Joker leaving the Normandy at the end. [/sp]

Save your money until the game gets a proper ending, if they ever add a proper ending.
The journey to the ending is amazing, but the ending just doesn't do the franchise justice, to the point where it destroys the franchise outright just to force even more drama on the player.
I'd also say it's not worth getting it if you haven't played the two other installment. Mass Effect 1 and 2 are key to enjoying ME3... well, until the ending that is.

I don't want to replay it as long as they don't fix the god damn ending sequence.
I was planning to play each game over again, but now.. I just can't be bothered to do that anymore, knowing that none of my choices will matter in the end, except for points I suppose.
I played the first mass effect twice, mass effect 2 once and I am never going to play the 3rd one.
Amazing how a horrible ending can ruin a game's entire franchise.

found this... never played any of the Mass Effect games but listening to this was fun.
but mass effect 1 was good
or maybe thinking that makes me a "hipster" because i liked bioware before they sold out to ea?
anyone who likes me3 is a biodrone and anyone who dislikes it is a hipster. there, are we all settled now?
Do yourself a favor and shutup.

Thanks for that. Was a real good listen.

EA did less to Bioware then you know and what's most likely the reason why people like ME3 is because it's ME2.
[sp]but with a shittyer story[/sp]
3.5m disappointed people.
Yeah, 20 hours of perfection, I am so disappointed.
Yeah, 20 hours of perfection, I am so disappointed.
For me it was 31 hours, 40 minutes of perfection, followed by 10 minutes of soul-crushing, franchise defeating disappointment.
I'm still going to replay the game and enjoy the hell out of it, but MAN that ending drags things down.
I think the reason why there's so much of an uproar over ME3 is that it's pretty much one of the biggest (if not the biggest) story-driven games ever released. It's been marketed out the ass and will probably have quite an influence over the direction of the game industry (ME2 and even ME1 also had a decent bit of influence). But as far as story-driven games go, it's mediocre at best. Anyone that's played something like Deus Ex, DX:HR, Planescape: Torment or just about anything from Obsidian/Black Isle/Troika can tell you that we've done a lot better than this and can still do a lot better than this, so it's annoying when it's the highest-selling/most well-known example of "good" stories in games.
I will say that people are over-reacting (Which is really just par-for-the-course for any game that isn't Deus Ex on /v/ or any number of sites influenced by /v/) and that ME3 isn't as bad as something like, say, Dragon Age 2 (Which was basically just a blatant, lazy cash-grab that was worse than it's predecessor in almost every way), but I won't say that the overreactions exist for literally no reason.
Even the highest quality of game ever made is not perfect. There is no such thing as perfection, especially in video games. To claim such is extreme ignorance.
It's just a saying, don't become illogical because you're bitterly trying to prove a point

Actually I played, beat, and loved Deus Ex: HR with a passion, but I wouldn't say that ME3 was worse, or even lesser in any way.
DXHR ending involved picking a button.
Witcher 2 final boss was a quicktime event.
this whole situation reeks of nerd hyperbole
I think the ending leaves a lot to be desired but everything up to that point can justify a $60 purchase.
