• This Saints Row Trailer Is What I Don’t Even

Never played a Saints Row game, but I'm sure as hell getting this one. From what I've seen, you could basically be a supervillain in this game :v:
Looks awesome. Saints Row is a brilliant franchise, mostly because unlike every other sandbox game they don't try to copy GTA or make cheap shots at it. The two live in harmony with serious GTA and silly Saints Row. Can't wait for this though, I'm going to dress myself up as a superhero and launch myself across the city with that cannon as soon as possible.
Why cant we just have both? SR3 = endless fucking around GTAV = awesome story, more realistic
this is a day-1 for me, looks like endless hours of fun [editline]26th June 2011[/editline]
Why cant we just have both? SR3 = endless fucking around GTAV = awesome story, more realistic
100% agree
I have the feeling this will get old faster than you might think.
that trailer made me lol around five times. this looks absolutely awesome. also, I was pretty impressed/surprised by the graphics too, the saints row series hasn't exactly been at the forefront of visuals, but they appear to have made great strides in this sequel. will at the very least rent, probably buy
I hope this doesn't turn out to be absolutely too silly, SR2 had some great combat and engaging gameplay. I suppose they were just showing this all off as part of the demo of course. I personally considered Grand Theft Auto 4 a piece of shit. They tried way too hard to be realistic, and sacrificed way too much fun for realism, while Saints Row 2 was the perfect mix.
Looks like they've put more of a focus on fun rather than silly for the sake of silly. I like that.
Holy fuck! That looks amazing!
Yes, they redid the driving physics!
I have the feeling this will get old faster than you might think.
I spent endless hours fucking around SR2 and it seems like this is just going to add more things to fuck around with
I want to play the PC version but all I see is a big sign saying, NO DON'T!
Hopefully the pc port isn't a pile of shit again.
sure it will be hilarious and goofy and wacky and that's fine whatever but uh, will it stay with you like GTA IV?
Hopefully the pc port isn't a pile of shit again.
I think Volition said that they're doing their PC ports in-house now.
It's quite possible to do an in-house port that ends up crap, especially if their primary focus is on consoles.
This guy has got something against women.
"Our goal was to create a sandbox where nothing is scripted" *scripted combat move to a pedestrian*
"Our goal was to create a sandbox where nothing is scripted" *scripted combat move to a pedestrian*
It'd be entirely possible for someone to make a entirely unscripted game. What they mean is. When you're out playing around. Nothing will happen the same way once. If it wasn't scripted. We wouldn't be able to hijack or even just get into cars.
Yeah i know what scripted means but it was a bad timing choice, the combat is completely scripted in SR, it's not dynamic atall.
It also happens to look fucking awesome.
Why are people worried about the gameplay being odd? I'm still trying to figure out why they came up with such an odd name. teh third, sounds like something a 5 year old wrote.

The only reason I played through all of GTA IV was to get done with it. It wasn't fun after you finished it because you had already done everything anyways. It won't be much difference in the fun factor in SR3, but at least you can do all the fucking around straight away instead of work your way up to it which is honestly just a drag.
i remember GTA IV, it was memorable i don't remember anything about SR1 or 2 and i've played through them
i remember GTA IV, it was memorable i don't remember anything about SR1 or 2 and i've played through them
I couldn't even play through all of SR2 so I have nothing to say here. Oh well except for the fact that I'll never forget this moment: I do however know that GTA IV is just as memorable as any other game I've played so I have no special relationship to it. What first pops up in mind is "driving over people" and "cutscenes".
After seeing this trailer, I immediately went out and bought Saints Row 2.
