"Now Available - Monopoly" made me laugh
thank christ monopoly is finally available for me to play after all these years of development
WARNING:
THIS GAME ISN'T MULTIPLAYER DESPITE WHAT THE STEAM PAGE SAYS.
i.e. you cannot play over the internet, you can only play with your friends on the same computer.
I'm sure there might be a free monopoly game on the internet with multiplayer that would probably would require a facebook login or some shit
I remember playing an old Monopoly for PC with multiplayer support and a good announcer. Also with animations for when you fall in certain places.
Edit: I think I found it, it's called Monopoly - New Edition (PC of course) It comes with different boards to choose and you can create your own if you want. I don't know exactly that, it was years ago, I doubt I can get a copy around here. You can create local or online matches using, I think, Gamespy.

Monopoly Here & Now on Pogo is competent enough

I was still optimistic I'd be able to play this online with some friends on mumble/ventrilo. I really cannot fathom why they would even bother releasing it. No one wants to play one of the original multiplayer games by themselves.
Whats funny is that this game is a port of the ios/android monopoly with an altered GUI.

If you don't mind 30 second adverts every 2 turns.
http://www.playok.com/en/blogpoly/ is a nice, simple (and free) alternative. No fancy dice rolls or anything though.
