if they make a free roam game mode how are they going to charge people money for shortcuts to pay for the vehicles they want and basic gameplay features such as disabling cops?
By not having it suck. Given they potentially get money out of it with sharkcards, they should REALLY up their game. Also the freeroam mode could not be something they hosted themselves, so that expense then isn't something they'd worry about.
How stupid can a company be, it's not hard to see that the games multiplayer is pretty much dead already.
yeah the 4th best selling videogame of all time's multiplayer is dead
But it's true, because Rockstar failed to implement an anti-cheat service that works. Everyone is just riding around in their armored karumas and trolling each other at this point with their speedhacks and aimbots.

As of the current Steam stats, more people played Civilization V than GTA V (SP and/or MP) today, and are playing it right now. Now, Civ V is on sale right now, that's true, but it's been maintaining consistent numbers: Steam is only one platform for GTA V PC, and then there are the consoles, sure, but for such a popular game, a downward trend when you're already below Civ V is not a good sign.
