It's funny because it's genuine pay2win now.
Operations are locked to F2P players.
Operations are SWTOR's raids.
Raids give the best gear in MMOs.
No sub = you can't get the best gear
That isnt really P2W though, you arent paying directly for the stuff and you still need to grind it.
Their F2P model looks similar to the one Champions Online uses though, which sucks. Its basically the kind of model where they literally dump all over free players in any way possible until they are forced to give in and pay.
They need to give an incentive for you to pay, how else will they make money?
Plenty of other F2P games manage to not screw over anyone who doesnt pay while still being successful in terms of money.
please stop trying to defend this abomination of a free to play model
How is it an abomination, I don't see anything wrong with it other then the limitation of travel.

By making the game good in the first place.

what's wrong with it is that it's a game you have to pay for to play it

You get content up to level 50, that is plenty of content.

Oh good their finally incorporating a good character into it.
They need to give an incentive for you to pay, how else will they make money?
There are plenty of free to play games with better differences than that. Actually I'd say the majority of them do.
Of course as they continue down the path of failure, I'm sure the f2p incentives will increase.

You can't grind it though.
The only way to get the gear is through the dungeons.
If you don't pay you can't get the gear.
Smart play. F2P is much better than subscription based for both the developers and the players. More people will get to try the game and they will make more money this way. Surprised it took this long.
Honestly should have launched like Guild Wars 2 ala single purchase, no fees, with microtransactions to support additional development.

Hes not going to be in it, just his mask as a Cash Store item.

It's still a pretty bad deal right now.
The free to players are extremely limited even compared to true f2p games yet they're still expected to pay money for the game itself.
This free-to-play model is a joke.
I'll still play through it for the campaign, though.

In a way I guess that's okay. You get to play the one pretty decently done part of the game (the leveling) then not have to worry about paying away the ridiculous limits later.
Smart move on the free Bonus items. Now you will have 100s of giant rancor holograms as well as speeders in the republic fleet. Real smart

That isnt what I mean. Even if you pay, you need to grind the dungeons to get it. They are locking content out for non-paying people, not allowing people to pay to instantly get good gear.

Let me have Atton Rand's jacket, and I might be more interested.
Heck, I'd take Carth's orange jacket.

Looks awful, honestly it should be just the mask hiding the entire face
Ok....I'm cringing after reading the differences between "free" and "subscriber" accounts. If EA thinks this is how they are going to get players back they are SORELY mistaken.

Free to play is just for people that want to do the story and none of the other MMO aspects. It is basically just a trial to 50 with free to play used to attract people.
Changes nothing for subscribers and attracts more people. What is the problem?

That helmet is pretty fucking cool though
so what exactly is wrong with this game?
so what exactly is wrong with this game?
Generic and repetitive once you get over the voice acting, voice acting can't save a game when the quests that come from the voice acting are collection quests or go kill someone quests.
I bought the CE and after getting to Level 50 Jedi Sentinel, 3 other alts to Level 30, I lost interest in the repetitiveness. And fuck Taris and fuck Rakghouls.
It really is a Star Wars skinned WoW... If you like that, you're in luck.
Seems like a bad idea to have trade restrictions for free players since for the time being you still have to purchase the game. A majority of F2P games that do such a thing do it to hinder Real Money Trade.

I didn't think it was possible to make Taris more boring than it was in KOTOR 1.
Well on the boring scales, Tattoine is quite high. apart from the Czerka funny mission, I really didn't know whether to cut myself or fall asleep due to boredom. Welcome to SAND: THE MMO

With these travel limitations I think people will just stop playing once they get to planets like Tattoine.

The ship has sunk.
And this P2.. "F2P".. Bullshit, that is. But thanks at least for chance to play through the story.

We don't even know what the restrictions are yet.
Although I agree, Tatoonie is way too big.
And fuck Taris and fuck Rakghouls.
I like Taris when playing as a Melee character, but I hate Taris as a ranged.
