Tried it a LOONG time ago.
It seems to be pretty nice, but due to my lack of patience and the game beign waay to big and alien-esque confusing for me, i gave up.
I may try it again one day...
It feels like playing an incomplete game. The story is so hard to follow and so uninteresting in the way it is conveyed I gave up on it. The mechanics are confusing and the game feels way too easy when you've got 999 add or take a bit rounds for certain guns after clearing an area.
I walked into one area and it was like a Quake death match. Loads of respawning faction NPC's killing each other around every corner in an arena disguised as a city, essentially. It didn't give me anything to come back for so I got bored of it.
I think I've said this before, but I actually really like this game, but it's bizarre. You have no idea what you're doing half the time, and things just kind of... happen? I don't quite know how to explain it, it never feels like you have a coherent goal, and it kinda feels like you've changed something every time you play it.
What I'm trying to say is, EYE feels like a game you've played only at a friend's house, bits and pieces make sense to you, but it's really new every time, you think you know something is going to happen in X map, yet something else happens instead, and it's confusing.
I pretty much agree with what everybody else has said. It's weird and bizarre, but it has a certain charm. I played it, and enjoyed it, but goddamn if it isn't really tricky to.
It's a decent game in my opinion but holy shitsauce is it confusing sometimes. The level design, the general gameplay, the story, everything comes together to create a sickening sense of disorientation. If that's what the developers were going for then they're secretly geniuses.
It is a clusterfuck and there is no way to get around that clusterfuck.
I wish I could keep my interest long enough to start understand what the fuck is going on.
Hopefully the devs learned a lot from this and continue on with other projects, preferably in the same universe.
if things could have mental disorders this game would probably have schizophrenia
it rules
There are mental disorders. The first time I played coop, I threw a sentry gun at a friend which exploded, making my friends character panic. He switched to his melee weapon then attacked me on an elevator, pushing me off.

Honestly for everyone who is disoriented and not sure what is going on, the best way to fix that is to play coop with someone who knows what is happening.
I played coop with a few buddies and one of them knew like everything about the game and now the game is super easy to grasp and I know what is actually happening. Things have the veil of being weird and hard to understand but it's still just a videogame and things aren't ultra random and obtuse or anything, it's just the game literally does not convey ANYTHING to you. You are supposed to go in and interpret everything until by trial and error you finally get comfortable.
I once tried it but I didn't know what the fuck was going on
The save system is what kept me from enjoying it, usually when I had to leave the game, it put me into that shit dream sequence everytime. Then I need to select a mission or some other bullshit. I don't know how many times I saw that dream sequence which is just such an unnecessary part when you played this game for a longer period.
Also Source was definitly the wrong engine to pick, the shooting felt great but how the levels were designed and with this whole hub level, source was more in the way than enhancing the game.

i meant the game itself as a whole.
as in, if it had a brain
but it doesnt, so it cant be schizophrenic
but if it could, this game would definitely be schizo
because its so crazy and stuff
thats what i was getting at
