The Gravity Gun Is The Best Thing From Two Months Ago
Last time I checked, Gordon didn't have a backpack or holsters to carry all those weapons, or multiple arms. I would imagine you would have not much room to carry a rpg, smg, crowbar, pistol, ar2, and such.
Sarcasm aside, I think if the weapons were positioned just right, that they could fit properly, and any weight side effects would be removed by the HEV Suit. I'm sure there is a somewhat reasonable explanation out there, but I probably can't think of a good one while this tired. But the HEV Suit probably helps out a little in choosing what weapon, so the weapons could get a little cluttered but can still be chosen fast.
The main thing to remember about the HEV suit is that it's pretty much a high-tech hazmat suit. Even with it potentially being modified for combat use by HL2, there's no real reason to believe it would have significant combat-related functions, especially during HL1, where there was a far bigger arsenal

The REAL explanation

The intro voice does mention munitions level monitoring for a reason.
I like how well they match moved and rendered the background in the last shot. They've gotten a fair bit better over the years.

And they usually explain how they made the video:

I think I once saw someone complaining about how the metrocop gets sliced in half by the saw blade even though it's not possible in HL2
goddammit those people just argh

I think you're trying to explain gameplay elements by trying to fit them into the story when they don't need to. Whether the HEV suit enhances user strength or not isn't confirmed anyway so the argument ends there.
In fact, I could bet my left nut that if you asked Laidlaw himself he'd tell you not to look too much into it or alternatively a sarcastic answer.
Why do the subtitles say ZEN Crystal???
Are we really arguing the realism of a video game that has never said it was realistic? The gravity gun uses a Zen crystal, which is basically alien magic. Not every game needs everything explained in total realistic boundaries like how he caries all the weapons, that is obviously a gameplay over pointless realism decision.

XEN CRYSTAL!!
I don't remember ever being on the border world "ZEN" in Half Life 1, fighting stones and bamboo in a relaxing small japanese garden.
But Breen uses it at the end to blast that door and he's clearly like 'fuck this is so heavy holy shit'
And doesn't Alyx use it at the start of Episode 2 and is clearly like 'fuck this is so heavy holy shit' too

What, you don't find it fun trying to explain the very creative gameplay aspects in story terms, like the infinite amount of pheropods, or the quite large arsenal Gordon carries? I find it a ball :v:
