Minecraft to add new boss monster, invisibility potion

Hooray for more pointless shit instead of improving the base gameplay.

Pleasing the masses of content-hungry 12 year olds. Reminds me of TF2 and the ludricous amounts of items and hats being added all the time
If they're adding a legit way to turn invisible, they'd better add an admin command to override it
Greifing would be way too easy

At least TF2 has proper gameplay :v:
Snapshots kind of ruined minecraft for me, since any excitement towards actually getting to play with new content is decimated by the ability to play it at any time before it's released. For example tf2, they know how to build hype.
I may be alone in this, but seeing a WIP or being in a beta kind of ruins the full version when it comes out
Wow guys calm your tit, it's a snapshot, it's not even fully released yet.
They're going to add some shit for that new boss i'm sure, some sort of new area. Even if they didn't add any core gameplay, the things they have been adding are really neat things.
Too bad that "neat things" don't make the game any less boring.

Unless of course you just so happen to be a person who enjoys Minecraft regardless. I play on a large public server where we focus on recreating a world from a video game franchise. Doesn't get boring because there's always something to do, and little things like potted plants only add to more possibilities of recreation.
Actually the boss looks awesome to me.

Except TF2 has no problems with its' gameplay.
Woot corner stairs
About the only thing I care about in this update I see
Except TF2 has no problems with its' gameplay.
The problems are pretty much just people getting pissy over hats yes.
Like one time I was playing and someone who was pretty much leading the fight saw someone with a rare hat and immediately stopped fighting and asked that guy if he could trade the hat. Needless to say we lost.
The stairs and nether things are the only interesting stuff.
I still hope they'll make an actual survival mode. There's a problem when a dirt wall is as secure as an obsidian fortress with lava traps.
I wish they would stop adding all this irrelevant stuff to the game. The only version that's worth playing now I find is the Xbox version; as it's a few updates behind the pc version it doesn't have all the RPG shit like enchantments and experience. Minecraft is never going to work as an RPG, it was designed as basically computerised lego. The monsters were just a neat little extra to add a bit of challenge, they were never supposed to be the whole point of the game, hence the simplicity of the combat. All these updates just feel like they're trying to turn Minecraft into something it was never supposed to be, and are making the game less fun as a result.
Another boss? I wonder what kind of useless function it will serve, just like the dragon that doesn't do anything and "The End".
Before anyone says "It's for adventure mode, durr hurr." There is plenty wrong with the current game mechanics such as survival/fighting that needs to be addressed as well as several other things before adding random decorative stuff.
Game would be so much better without all these stupid monsters
I'd like to see more improvements to current mobs first, and not just "every 50 zombies, one drops an iron helmet!". Things like giving creepers biome specific texture color. They have it for grass and leaves already, why not do it for creepers so they can hide better, instead of being in a jungle biome and being like "Oh hey, a few blocks of light green pixels? That's a creeper!". Creepers are supposed to be able to creep up on you. If you're walking through a bunch of trees at night, creepers should stand still near a tree, blending in with the leaves, and sneak up on you. They shouldn't act just like a zombie.
Wow, this is late as shit. GameChap has been covering it for weeks.

Again, implement a system similar to the Battlegear mod. Implement various types of weapons (not just sword and bow). Implement different attacks.
Who agrees?
Invisibility is going to be a nightmare for admins to deal with
siiiick
my favourite part of the boss battle is when he flies straight towards you firing projectiles

So it's basically the skeleton as far as AI is concerned
pretty damned impressive

I agree, at the very least I'd like it if Minecraft in combat wasn't just "this sword is stronger than the sword before it," I'd like swords with different attributes. Maybe even different types of weapons altogether, like maybe a crossbow or even different melee weapons than just a sword.
Oh boy, invisibility potions.
Now my friend's little brother can officially ruin servers without having to hack.
At least TF2 has proper gameplay :v:
Pretty sure Minecraft has "proper" gameplay (seriously? "proper"? what the fuck is "proper" gameplay?). It's quite simple, you mine blocks to build things and make things. TF2, you kill enemies to capture points and flags. The combat system is simple, yeah, but what the fuck else can they do? If they make it too complex people will complain and it won't fit the game, if they leave it like it is, people will complain, and it just won't go anywhere.
Rather than complaining about the combat system, can you people actually suggest ideas on how to improve it? The game has a fairly solid base, a lot of this newer content is improving it, but some of the newer content is adding basically nothing of importance (until the bosses actually start dropping rare items, they are useless).
This massive hatedom of Minecraft is pretty unfounded, yeah the game released early, but that's largely because Notch is a damn fool who was tired of working on the game now he had money. Remember, when he started it, it was a side project with no promise of completion. Jeb is trying to fix it, it's not going to be an overnight fix though, and new content has to be added to keep interest up, but that content doesn't detract from bug fixes. I haven't played the game in months, and honestly, these additions the snapshots are testing are kinda interesting.

This is what I mean, this has actual suggestions on how to improve shit. It's not hard to write down some ideas, so do it.
Oh cool, more shit that'll hold me over for 5 minutes!
Really though, this is pretty mediocre at best.
But This is a sandbox game. Why?
The Boss Health bar seemed to disappear when it looked like Seth was a certain distance from it. Would this make it more possible for more free-roaming bosses such as an ankylosaurus?
But This is a sandbox game.
CREATIVE MODE is the sandbox part of the game. If you don't like monsters and want to play on survival, play on fucking peaceful difficulty.
This is why we don't have actual challenge in survival mode yet, because people keep forgetting these things.

Agreed. People only think of Minecraft as a way to build stupid pixel art. And that is sad, because Minecraft is so much more.
You can explore the the various biomes in its huge maps, looking for rare things.
You can improve your equipment and your home.
You can fight monsters.
... Or at least that's how it should be. I also agree that surviving is too easy, and fighting is boring.
[sp]That's why I tried anarchy servers like 2b2t. When there isn't a tree or animal within a mile radius, surviving becomes actually challenging.[/sp]

Woah you back the fuck off my pixel art, making pixel art is fun and extremely satisfying. It is in no way stupid.
If you think survival is boring and easy, then try out Vechs Super Hostile maps, it's fun with the Battlegear, Balkons weapons mod, Special mobs and More Creeps and Weirdos. You want objective? Then try them out!
The maps are designed to work with vanila Minecraft so no need for +mods, but you can always enchance the experience with the mods.
