Except TF2 has no problems with its' gameplay.
Minecraft's combat is way more unbalanced than TF2's [editline]26th August 2012[/editline]
Woot corner stairs About the only thing I care about in this update I see
Jeb is thinking about removing it though. [editline]26th August 2012[/editline]
I'd like to see more improvements to current mobs first, and not just "every 50 zombies, one drops an iron helmet!". Things like giving creepers biome specific texture color. They have it for grass and leaves already, why not do it for creepers so they can hide better, instead of being in a jungle biome and being like "Oh hey, a few blocks of light green pixels? That's a creeper!". Creepers are supposed to be able to creep up on you. If you're walking through a bunch of trees at night, creepers should stand still near a tree, blending in with the leaves, and sneak up on you. They shouldn't act just like a zombie.
The creepers texture is exactly like the original grass texture so I don't know why they haven't implemented your idea yet.
Invisibility is going to be a nightmare for admins to deal with
Invisibility potions are basically worthless for griefing. Any decent server will have an addon to track all the block changes in the world so they will still be caught pretty easily and have the damages rolled back. I very rarely have to deal with griefers while they are in the process of doing it anyway, it almost always happens when the victim isn't online. Unless you are playing on a pvp/anarchy server or something but in that case you should be prepared to have your shit wrecked anyway.
I think the little swirlly effects that appear when you drink the potion should be brighter to balance it out.
Invisibility is going to be a nightmare for admins to deal with
It will take probably five minutes for someone to make a bukkit mod that disabled it. EDIT: But using it on 2b2t will be the most fun thing EVER.
I think the little swirlly effects that appear when you drink the potion should be brighter to balance it out.
In one of the screen shots I saw of the invisibility potion there was bubbles popping up from the top of the player which shows their current location during invisibility, I'm guessing it's subject to change and possibly admins could have the ability to disable certain potions such as the invisibility potion.
Yeah they should just take out everything that doesn't have to do with combat. Fuck all of the "useless" stuff. Dye? Pictures? Frames? DECORATIVE ITEMS? Fuck them for even TRYING to add such a thing!
If I want useless crap, I'll download some mods. Oh wait, a lot of these mods don't have useless crap at all, on the contrary, they have useful crap. Too bad I can't use any of them with the latest version of Minecraft because every update grinds the modding community to a screeching halt. I guess I'll just have to downgrade and wait all the mods to be updated. Hopefully Mojang won't release another update anytime soon, because then I'd have to wait even longer.
I think the little swirlly effects that appear when you drink the potion should be brighter to balance it out.
What's the point in having an invisibility potion if people can still tell where you are?
What's the point in having an invisibility potion if people can still tell where you are?
Games like Halo and Crysis have partial invisiblity.
What's the point in having an invisibility potion if people can still tell where you are?
Game balance perhaps? Having a 100% invisible enemy is no fun. The smoke particles are only meant to show up at relatively close ranges from what I see, so you could always try and camouflage yourself near a torch or something. It encourages sneaking rather than just running around.
Games like Halo and Crysis have partial invisiblity.
Yeah but having a shimmer and having a particle effect are very different. With the shimmer you can stand still to be unnoticed. With a particle effect you may aswell not be invisible at all.
So, it's a floating version of the skeleton with a larger health bar, and a poison effect with a fancy name. Meh.
I don't know, nothing in MC looks awesome.
The older world generator made awesome cliff formations, arches, really cool stuff that you could explore. Now we get boring, repetitive biomes and dungeons.
More red stone stuff please. Also, more challenging zombie ai.
