gib hat plx TRADING x FOR X
Go find a non shit server? There are literally hundreds
In the end, those hats signify that who ever wins, not only wasted the most money, but also is an idiot.
It is amazing how much money is wasted in this game on junk.
what are you whining about?
how am I whining, i just told you the annoying part that imo ruins the game a little
Probably the most obvious "cashcow" "update" from Valve yet, I mean, most gift, map stamps and duels? Some people WILL spend lots (and I mean LOTS) of cash on this.
And why is it that you give a fuck? You don't have to buy anything, and these hats are purely aesthetic. Those who want to pay will pay, no one is forcing you to. Please, bitch more.
WOW VALVE GIVES ME THE *OPTION* TO PAY FOR A THING THAT DOESNT CHANGE GAMEPLAY AT ALL
THOSE JERKS
It's funny, had EA or Activition done something like this there would be no one in this thread defending them at all. They would be totally condemned.

Because I'm totally bitching or whining at anything, and not just stating my opinion on that update right?
I'm saying it's quite an obvious cash cow, those hats, and the idea behind how to get them, for a limited time that is.
And stop jumping the horse, just because I type my opinion about this doesn't mean I'm automatically whining, my post wasn't even hinting at a whine,it's blankly stating what the point of that little update is, fool.
gib hat plx TRADING x FOR X
On the Facepunch UK server, spamming trade messages is bannable.
And you can disable trade requests. So really, the game is the same, there is just a bunch of silly cosmetics now and new playstyles for different weapons.
I don't see why people continue to complain. I have enjoyed TF2 since it started, and continue to enjoy the game to this day.
OH MY GODnobody should care
I love people asking me what I want for my bill's hat though. So delicious to crush one's hopes and dreams.
Valve apologists everywhere.

Facepunch: Keep on sucking that valve dick.
Well at least the map makers are finally going to get some dosh out of their work. Seriously, a person who builds a good map spends 10x the time than people on a hat, yet the hat makers get 10x revenue
Facepunch: Keep on sucking that valve dick.
Implying EA/Activision have modding/mapping capabilities for many of their games and would use user-generated content which is available for free, along with rewarding the mappers themselves.

I'm totally fine with this. These hats are totally useless so if some people are ready to spend thousands for them I don't give a fuck.
It's funny, had EA or Activition done something like this there would be no one in this thread defending them at all. They would be totally condemned.
If activision released a purely cosmetic item that you had to pay for, i would go "Ok".
Cosmetic items are the absolute best form of item purchasing, because they make almost fuck all difference to the game, and people are still willing to buy them
I dont understand why anyone gives a shit

It's hard to read infliction on the internet, calm down.
The hats are really ugly anyways.
And the only one they'd actually make money from is the gift one.
Also, something about the article that kinda bugs me is it says that this was the update that added strange parts, when it was last weeks, and not yesterdays. I know it's a really small detail, but still.
But it's still a shitty update nonetheless.
It contributed more than your post did.
I'd say they both were equal in terms of contribution.
I like that Valve are milking idiots, if it means they have money to make good games like Dota 2 then I'm for it. You don't HAVE to spend anything on TF2, so I don't see what the problem is.
Now imagine if TF2 was CoD, and Activision was Valve.
Now imagine if TF2 was CoD, and Activision was Valve.
so wheres tf2,3,4, and 5?
Activision only gets the stick because their game offers little to no innovation between iterations. If COD innovated enough, they there wouldn't be any problems with their product a year (see assassins creed) release system.
I'm glad it's not pay to win. Also, encouraging people to give away hats using a hat? Awesome.
It's funny, had EA or Activition done something like this there would be no one in this thread defending them at all. They would be totally condemned.
It all depends on their intentions if you ask me. For the most part, they're always going for money, money, money. I wouldn't say the case here with these three hats coming from Valve is entirely the case, as one of them contributes to community map makers. Also, other players are benefiting from the other two hats. Of course, Valve does want to earn money, but they're doing it in good ways.
Until Valve starts doing things that require you to be a wallet warrior in order to obtain any items that change the gameplay aside from cosmetics, I don't really care.
This is optional, meaning you don't have to buy it
why is everyone complaining
Why is everyone upset? I bet those upset don't even play the game anymore.

Tf2 3??
Facepunch: Keep on sucking that valve dick.
Well it is a valve forum...
I don't really condemn valve for this. Its basically an addon, which doesn't hurts me at all.
The only negative thing that comes out of this is how some people care more about the hats than anything else in the game.
Now imagine if TF2 was CoD, and Activision was Valve.
But you can't compare CoD with any game made by valve.
One was made to break sale records with the multiplayer alone with few inovative changes released every year to make tons of money, and the others are games which take a shitload of time to release and break some kind of level in criticism due to how increadible they are.
The CS franchise (being the only games that could compare to CoD due to multiplayer which is the reason why you would get both of them) isn't as famous as the CoD franchise anymore because its old and people have moved on to CoD and BF. It still has its fame and avid players, but CoD just became a huge giant with so many releases.
I don't see any problem what-so-ever.
It's a hat. You are not forced to wear it. One hat goes to map contributers. Another is reletivly cheap. And the last one gives other players more weapons and stuff.
You are not forced to buy these things.
The hat is not a game changing item.
Stop bitching. You sound like the TF2 forums.
Why is everyone upset? I bet those upset don't even play the game anymore.
They are jealous of the people who still play for fun.
Why is everyone upset? I bet those upset don't even play the game anymore.
Because Team Fortress 2 has become bastardised by its own creators.

This. Microtransactions in an f2p game is nothing shocking, TF2 doing them right should be an example to others. Paying to differentiate > Paying to dominate.
That said this is a move engineered to rake in gargantuan amounts of money from idiots, but if idiots are going to throw the money at them why should they not do it?
And this ladies and gents is why I stopped playing tf2
