The first one did too though? You play a girl who was trained to become a runner after your father died and you seek the guy who framed your sister for a crime - I'd consider that a story
Mirror's Edge's gameplay was solid and all and it's one of my favorite games but TBH the story is pretty laughable.
Makes me want to play through it again. Probably done so 5 times already.
Mirror's Edge 1 had pretty awful gunplay. I know it's not remotely about guns, but the game forces the gunplay onto you at a few points and that's no good. I hope the next game makes using guns a completely optional thing and never forces you to do it at any point.
Yeah with Mirror's Edge it seems they hesitated to release a game without any guns at all. I mean you're already playing a female character, considering what Remember Me went through, that already must've taken quite a bit of convincing. Not sure which way the sequel would go considering Mirror's Edge 1 didn't exactly sell well if memory serves correctly.

I've re-played the game 3 times and I always aim to finish it without using guns and I think there was only one instance where the game persuaded you to use a gun which was that short sniping area in the rooftops. Maybe I forget though, that was a year ago.
It's going to be shit, calling it now. I have very little faith in EA's ability to not fuck it up.
"What does "publisher" mean?"
This delights me a lot. I was just thinking the other day about if and when DICE were gonna pause their Battlefield production line and do ME2.
The first one did too though? There were lots of little traces of interesting world lore exposition that were mentioned but never really expanded upon, such who the runners work for, the city's claimed transformation into a 1984-esque dystopia, the November riots, and so on. After the first 10-20 minutes the game narrative stopped being about "running" and focused only on the things directly concerning the murder-mystery plot, which is a shame because I'd love to have seen that game world properly fleshed out. I hope the sequel can do that.

It's been a long time since I've played Mirror's Edge, but I recall some parts being really difficult to get past because soldiers were blocking the only pathway. The most efficient way to get past them would be to pick up a gun and kill them, but I don't know, my memory might be fuzzy. :P
I really hope Solar Fields comes back for the soundtrack <3

But I always found it more fun when you're playing the hardest difficulty and try to finish all the levels without guns, very challenging.
ohmygod please dont be a lie :v
Mirror's Edge is their ONE last property that isn't total shit PLEASE PLEASE

I avoided using guns unless it was impossible.
all the semen in my body gushed out with that news
Tell me you went on holiday and forgot to turn off your PC. Jesus Christ just how many playthroughs is that?
3 Star ratings on all the trials and Custom maps yo. about 5-7 Story runs.
Hardest difficulty + no gun playthrough took me absolutely forever to do, but man was it satisfying
Please don't be an exclusive. [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline] PLEASE
Didn't EA say all future titles will have micro-transactions? I still believe though, this needs to happen, and happen now.

Even if you were doing a no gun run you had to stop and melee them one at a time, shit sucked [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline] If there's going to be gunplay in ME2, they'll need to integrate it with movement and not have stop and shoot segments Low health enemies so they don't roadblock/can actually be killed on the move Shooting while jumping/vaulting On the move disarm/melee Even the melee system was horrible because you lost all your momentum when you were forced into combat

It's gonna be an Xbox exclusive, and when it doesn't sell well and they kill off the IP, they'll blame pirates or something. That's how this thing works, right?
