EA can't be that dumb. They know that the general public currently despises the xbox one, hell they even said they would go back to making WiiU games after the reveal, I dunno if that's coincidence or what.
Doubt it'll be a console exclusive.

this has never happened, and never will happen
god, pc gamers have no trust in anybody and assume the craziest things.
It's been a long time since I've played Mirror's Edge, but I recall some parts being really difficult to get past because soldiers were blocking the only pathway. The most efficient way to get past them would be to pick up a gun and kill them, but I don't know, my memory might be fuzzy. :P
There were areas that using a gun would be easier, but if you were fast or tricky enough, you could beat it without firing a shot (except at the van). I've done it twice.

I made this just for you guys <3

Yes. Yes! YES!
SHIT YEAH PLEASE BE TRUE
Mirrors Edge is one of my all time favorites
While I'm a bit horrified that this could be an exclusive, surely they wouldn't be the crazy. Surely it would be insane to make a game that hardly involves weapons and has a female protagonist an exclusive on a console that is stereotypically populated with preteen boys.
If it happens, give it oculus rift support.
Please.
day1 dlc, calling it now.
It's going to be shit, calling it now. I have very little faith in EA's ability to not fuck it up.
Usually it's the third one in a series that gets fucked by EAs publishing, if the series does well.

2 has a chance!
But then it's time to jump ship.
MY COCK IS FUCKING RAW RIGHT NOW OH MY GOD
day1 dlc, calling it now.
they should release day one dlc on day 6 or 10 or something so people won't get angry about it.
is it really that hard to believe that day 1 dlc is made during free time after development has finished? why is that bad?

You're buying a full product, but then there's a part of the product that you cannot use until you pay again. It's not an accessory, it's not sold separately, it's there the entire time, you just can't use it until you pay again.
made during free time after development has finished? why is that bad?
I just think that every bit of content that was developed within the project's budget and time frame should be part of the product that I pay for. Otherwise, nothing is really stopping developers from just cutting out parts of the finished product and selling it as DLC in order to make more money without injecting more development money. Which I suspect happens sometimes. I guess this varies from case to case.

So it's not day 1 dlc, it's dlc on the disk?
Mirror's Edge 1 had pretty awful gunplay. I know it's not remotely about guns, but the game forces the gunplay onto you at a few points and that's no good. I hope the next game makes using guns a completely optional thing and never forces you to do it at any point.
Explain me why there is an achievement for completing the game without using a gun, and why i have it?
You can run from everything.

I remember I did this on PC and then remembered the game doesn't have achievements on PC. A few months later I did the exact same thing. I've got a great memory.

no, that's not true, because the DLC is not part of the product you have paid for. just because it's on the disk does not mean that you're entitled to it. with that logic you could say that you're entitled to every TF2 item because you bought the game, and the files belong to you.
there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for the content being on the disk, too. it costs a ton of time (and sometimes money) to put out patches with large patches with game content. publishers circumvent this by using extra, unused space on the disk to store that content. why is this such a big deal?
[editline]24th May 2013[/editline]
if you can point out something in a game's EULA or TOS that says "you own the files" or something, i'll redact what i've said. please don't pull that "eulas don't mean shit in the EU" stuff, because that's an entirely different argument on its own.
This delights me a lot. I was just thinking the other day about if and when DICE were gonna pause their Battlefield production line and do ME2.
It's a pretty run-of-the-mill framing device for the rooftop freerunning that doesn't really connect properly to the potentially amazing game world. There were lots of little traces of interesting world lore exposition that were mentioned but never really expanded upon, such who the runners work for, the city's claimed transformation into a 1984-esque dystopia, the November riots, and so on.
After the first 10-20 minutes the game narrative stopped being about "running" and focused only on the things directly concerning the murder-mystery plot, which is a shame because I'd love to have seen that game world properly fleshed out. I hope the sequel can do that.
Ah man, that shit was so eerie; the janitor, his office with the mispelled notes, the creepy references to November ("When will november come") in the graffiti. A lot of people had figured they were hinting at a sequel with that; I remember when they found that if you saved one of the images off of the official website and saved it as a .txt it would say something about Mirror's Edge 2. IMO the lore was so much better than the main plot.

you know that actually sounds kinda fun
watch it be a xbox one exclusive
I doubt EA would limit themselves to one console. Means less money.
I hope Mirror's Edge 2 has machine pistols.

Man, you can say the gunplay was clunky and horrible all you want
But fuck me it was satisfying to steal that cop's gun and shoot the runner cops
Those fucking tasers man
And I also managed a playthrough without shooting anyone, just karate and stealth. It's a wonderful challenge if you're looking for a reason to replay the original.
this sounds really fucking stupid, but i don't think mirrors edge 2 would be that bad if it had more emphasis on gunplay. running up walls with a gun would be pretty neat.
I doubt EA would limit themselves to one console. Means less money.
They already limited themselves to 4 out of the 5 that exist, so it's not money they're after.
It's dominance. They feel like they can take on any competitor and anyone that opposes them. They marketed BF3 against MW3 even though the games are generally incomparable. They acted like a whiny baby when Nintendo told them they couldn't have complete control over their online infrastructure Nintendo Network. They abandoned Steam because it didn't allow them to offer DLC through the games themselves, even though the current system works perfectly fine.
EA isn't greedy, they just strive to be the best in the most childish way possible.

1) except that's entirely untrue and it's just for EA titles, and is pretty much identical to how bf3 was handled on the consoles.
"By signing up to play EA's titles," the policy reads, "you agree that limited user account information can be transferred to EA. Information transferred to EA includes your Mii information, email address, Nintendo Network ID, friend list, country, language and date of birth."
2. because who needs competition??? why can't all games be on a single digital distribution system?
