Blizzard's cash shop for WoW is a little ridiculous considering they're still a subscription game. Come get your new mounts, only $20.
Those mounts are pretty much just simple skins to look cool, it's not really that ridiculous. Just making money from people who want to look special :v:
Considering you're intending to be playing this game regularly (~10h week at the LEAST thus 40h a month) for an incredibly long amount of time, 15$ per month is basically a steal. The inital purchase is spread overtime, so for a year you basically paid 20$ per month.
If you care about paying 20$ for an MMO you enjoy playing, then you're obviously not an MMORPG player.
It really also boils down to this;
If you're really invested into an MMO, you're gonna be fine with the price. If you're not invested, it's probably not your kinda game to begin with :v:
Isn't Final Fantasy 14 that way?
More or less. But the base game is significantly cheaper, 20 dollars I believe. Or even less if you picked it up during one of the numerous sales.
If I'm not mistaken SWTOR was the most expensive game ever to create until today (getting beaton now by Destiny i think).
Edit:
Searched for it:
1. Destiny 500 million $
2. GTA V 265 million $
3. SWTOR 200+ million $
And how much of that money for SWTOR went towards the game? Bcause it looks like trash and feels like they spent most of the money on the cinematics.
I tried this in beta and I hated it. I won't touch it again
As of writing elder scrolls online is #3 on the steam top sellers list a day or two into the sale.
i'm sorry for their loss
