If you think that's big, take a look at the League of Legends season 2 finals: [thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/lu6i.jpg[/thumb]

League of Legends tournaments and high level streams are pretty fun to watch if you're a fan of the game. You can learn tips and strategies and whatnot for doing better on your own, and it's easy to appreciate the level of teamwork and coordination they're able to muster. When I play, half the team usually ends up AFK in the spawn area.
lets not forget that Riot are pumping millions of dollars into the eSports scene, mainly for LoL of course so more people start playing and spend cash
Just like Valve spends a lot for The International for Dota 2, to push the eSport scene. That's a really cool venue.
Dota 2 eSports is fucking huuuuuuuge. You can watch all the tourneys in-game with the spectator client.
If esport is ever to go truly mainstream then the producers must get better at avoiding the awkward situations you invariably end up in when you're dealing with people who spend most of their day in front of a screen. Pre/post-interviews with the "champions" are painful to watch because often they don't know what to say and the interviewers are pretty blondes who don't know shit and aren't really interested. Then there's shit like this: Why didn't they tell the guy what to do after the game?? These kind of situations happen way to often and simply wouldn't work in a national broadcast
Yeah, there's always something awkward that happens.
esports kind of died in like 2006, especially for shooters, would be great to have professional scene like CPL etc
the playerbase of most modern fps games is actually really really casual/fragile (as in without something like autobalance or pubs they would shrivel and die). This is in stark contrast to RTS's and Moba's where that playerbase prefers mechanics that are unfriendly to newer players or people who are "just playing for for fun"
