Horror: The Evil Within will be locked at 30fps despite the steep requirements
I never understood how specific framerate can fit a style. Running game at a slower framerate does not contribute jack to style imo. Dark survival horror games work just as well if not better at 60. I doubt this new one will be an exception. It's the same argument as sluggish controls make a game more tense. All it does is makes your character annoying to control and works against immersion.
There was an argument that Jim Sterling made that present day horror games aren't scary because the enemies "look too cool", basically, and the horror elements need to be alien and imperfect to actually be scary, which may be where this 30FPS argument is coming in from
The shame is, it kinda looks interesting as a game, though the PC version is just a tragedy.

Alien Isolation? Because actual alien visually is not scary at all. It looks cool as he said in that argument, but not scary. The cyborgs look creepier than that imo. But that is only about visuals, not actual gameplay.
Jesus fucking christ, 4gb VRAM?
I hope they at least improved the textures from the last footage I saw because it looked like a PS3 game
