It's optimised badly and for me it's not as fun as 1 and 2. I don't know, maybe I played to much. I know I loved it years ago, it was so fun. I'll give it a try after they patch it.
crap, not the best game, it has a few glitchs, but they can fix 'dem.
Capcom never did test this game out themselves and now they have a buggy launch, and that is not great when your game launches with technical issues (and worst, the 30 FPS limitation)...
I rolled back to driver ver 335.23 for nvidia and that seemed to fix my issues with the crashing
try that if any of you are really desperate
what driver did you have before that? i havnt had any crashes with 340.52
It works for me, and it's really good and a lotta fun, but the optimization is absolutely horrible. :(
Fuck, the optimization is terrible, my cpu temps keep going into the 60s, 60c is when it starts to get warm, but I'd prefer it it stayed in the damn 50s, even my FPS sucks, got it unlocked, and my FPS (even on lowest of low) stays around 45-50, and when it is on highest of the high, 45-60, except 60 is when I dont look at anything so mainly 45-50
honestly, i don't blame capcom for this sort of release. this is literally the very first current-gen only game to be ported to the pc.

You're kind of right, in fact I think they deserve a liiiitle (really, just a tiny bit) of credit for actually putting a bit more into one of their ports. DR2 was a pretty shit port with little to no graphics options and mediocre optimization. This game sounds like it's got shit optimization, but at least it's got options, a way to uncap the fps, stuff like that. Really it all depends on how they follow it up, and if they patch the game to behave decently. They seem active on the steam forums, so, we'll see.
Aside from really rare crashes and weird mouse acceleration, game runs pretty fine for me (on High settings). Even that FPS is usually between 45-60.

You should always blame the company if they release a shoddy product that isnt even working for the customer.
Capcom isnt a little baby company, they certainly have the means, resources, connections to put together a good port team. They just dont give a fuck or about you.

No its not, nor that's a valid reason to release a game in such poor condition.

Y'know that's a ironic statement, coming from the hideous amount of back stepping you did with Battlefield's 4 initial release.
Just sayin.
Also that suggested 'unlock fps' trick, doesn't really do much. Certainly didn't help the jittery cutscenes.

Actually, no. The launch state of BF4'S was unacceptable, and I never said other wise. However it wasnt DICE'S fault that ea rushed the release to compete with COD, Infact I didn't even buy the game until It was playable in December.
played a couple hours last night, game runs well for me on the highest settings save for some negligible dips in frame rate when a ridiculous amount of zombies are on screen, been having a ton of fun so far!
Resident Evil 4 HD was released pretty buggy but they took the time to make several patches and now its the best version of the game. I am optimistic that Capcom will patch this game too.
I'm surprised I can even run it. I'm running on 6 year old tech with a GTX 580 and 6GB of RAM and I'm still somehow able to run it at 30 FPS maxed. Even moreso with it on Medium.
The cutscenes shit themselves on high settings but the game itself is very playable for me. Not great. But playable.
It's never crashed and the framerate seems totally fine for me.
I guess I'm just really lucky.
It's funny as hell.. Everyone gets hyped, everyone gets let down because of stuff that isn't even gameplay faults that can be fixed, then everyone complains like little brats
Fuck off
I don't get it, it's funny? But you're telling people to fuck off? Because they were excited but can't even experience what they wanted and wasted their money on an unplayable product??? What brats, getting hyped then spending their money on something they can't even use, because that's what they were totally expecting. Spoiled, if you ask me.
Might as well throw in my rig's specs too:
4670k (not OC'd), 770 (this model), 8gb and game installed on a 7200rpm HDD.
The game can run at a comfortable 40-55fps with everything maxed, only dipping and becoming noticably choppy then there are A LOT of physics based things going on (like plowing through high volumes of zombies, normal seas of zombies doesn't dip the framerate) as well as in cutscenes (is it possible to blame that on the game being designed to be run at 30fps, especially if the animations and such weren't supposed to be seen in 60fps?).
game runs ok for me no crashes and no fps drops, not going to unlock the fps until they patch it and theres driver support though. gameplay wise it seems too easy and maybe too short, you dont really have to escort people to the safehouse there seem to be less side missions and psycho fights in general and with the apocalypse edition you can pull some pretty op weapons and vehicles from lockers to make it even easier
Single player has been fine for me the entire time I've been playing. Lag spikes here and there, but playable. I get nothing but constant crashing when I try to play with someone though, it also feels laggy in a sense as if I was streaming a video of the game instead of actually playing it.
Not to mention the sweet, sweet minigun from the Weapon Lockers. I killed the fat psychopath with it and she didn't have the chance to move being constantly hit by bullets. The game paused slightly and she called me an asshole then I kept shooting until she died.
But god, the regular soldiers and the bandits are pretty hard to kill. I don't know if I've unlocked the right ability yet but they sure do take loads of hits from either guns or combo weapons.
I must be lucky, it works really well for me. 780 and i7-4770k with 16 gb ram. Worked on highest (with it turned to 1080p, it's 720 on default) at about 40-60 fps, after lowering shadows it stays around 60.
Although the fov or zoom on the character or whatever to call it makes me nauseous, and there's no way to change it. Apart from that I'm having a blast. I have to say the Mall is a more interesting place to be in, but the weapons in DR3 are much better and more fun.
It generally did a lot of little things right that the previous game didn't. I don't know if it's as good as OTR but it's a good entry in the series, imo. Also I really liked OTR so there's that.

Also might be a good time for a General thread in the GGD, huh?

Yeah wish someone would make a thread in GGD.
As for the FOV, there's a semi-fix for it. Get the program Flawless widescreen and you can adjust the FOV. Only downside is the shadows get a bit glitchy unless you have them set to low. But it's worth it because the FOV is fucking awful.
I must also be really lucky. The game works perfectly smooth for me, save for that one part at the beginning where it zoomed out on all the zombies and I got 26 fps, but, how can I complain? I'm running 2560x1440 max settings and full game quality. 40-60 fps.
780 ti and i7-4770k
I have all the requirements except a gtx 650 2g, can I run this?
runs decent with fps issues - mainly when quickly turning around, but no serious frame chugging. no crashing for me and i have an nvidia card. it'll probably be great after some patching and proper driver support
Oh god the minibike is so exploitable. You can fly into the fucking sky if the angle is right
