Sony: 'vast majority' of gamers don't want to buy games online
People said this about PC games before most became Digital if not every game you can get you can get it Digital, consoles will follow soon, don't know why people are rather against it if PC already has been through the transaction.
Because there's no competition on consoles in the same way there is on PC.
$20 says that you can persuade a die-hard download-only gamer to switch sides if a physical copy was available at the store for cheaper.
It all breaks down to what is cheaper and for the most part digital copies have been far cheaper.

the fact that you can't lose a digital item, have it damaged, or be able to access it instantly whenever you want might be contributing factors too. might just be me, though

yeah but you can go buy a steamworks game on amazon for way cheaper than on the actual steam store and get the same experience; it's fucking stupid considering the only overhead steam has to pay is server costs

exactly, xbl and psn have game download services but no one I know uses them because they're expensive as fuck; probably to keep retail in business

that's why i NEVER buy games on steam unless that's the only place to get them. it's so much cheaper. crazy how people haven't figured this out yet.
gmg and amazon have infinitely better deals. who the fuck cares about some dumb exclusive tf2 hat if i can save up to like 20 bucks.
Sometimes it's just cheaper to buy a physical copy for some reason although there are a few titles that are cheaper to buy digitally. Even for PC games that are on Steam. I bought a physical copy of Skyrim for roughly $20 less than it was listed for on Steam.
I barely get anything from physical retail stores nowadays. Not just because of Steam, but because online retailers are often cheaper. Stuff is just delivered at my doorstep.
I solely buy games online because I can always find them cheaper online, so I'm not sure which bias crowd this article was based off of.

This only really apply to new games. I rarely buy a new game on Steam as the most Steam mark down on a new game is like 20%. Amazon tends to price things more reasonably.
I love getting games digitally for the convenience but dang you just can't beat physically holding the thing you bought (and also boxarts are nice)
That moment when you have to wait to buy a game, then you to go the shop and get it, totally priceless. I don't know you but I strangely enjoy more game when I have them in physical format than in digital one.
Gas is expensive. Fuck driving around, I'll let the game come to me.
Also pre-loading, bitch.

I only buy through steam when a game is on Sale, which is to say all the time. :v:
I like digital downloads but I sorely miss cracking open a game box and sifting through the physical manual.
I remember back when I first started using steam, it just didn't feel the same as actually going out and buying it. Still doesn't.
The problem with Xbox One wasn't downloading games but the forced drm, the 24 hr online/online code bullshit that was purposed solely at destroying the used games business. Console games have no need for DRM, piracy on modern consoles already being a pain in the ass.
