I can see why Sega chose Sanzaru Games to make the 3DS version. [sp]they made bad character designs that weren't even close to those in the rest of the series for Sly 4[/sp]
It's like they told their deviantart fanbase to make a game for them.
who else would be capable of actually completing a sonic game at this point in time but a fanatic with unending confidence in their vague artistic knowledge

I mean fucking hell did they recycle textures from the dreamcast edition of sonic adventure?
All the world textures look like they're at 2x scale Like those rats levels in CS where everything's 10x bigger than normal
It's like a 1990s CGI show
Not shiny enough for 90's.

Take control of your studio for fucks sake, those two models don't even look they are from the same game.
Take control of your studio for fucks sake, those two models don't even look they are from the same game.
I think they just don't care... They just want to dump this game and be done with it asap. [editline]22nd April 2014[/editline] Looking at those two models again, how feasible would it be for a game company to outsource modelling work?
I believe bandaging or taping is usually done for parkour reasons. It keeps clothing tight against the skin and reduces the risk it gets stuck on things. When you're jumping across rooftops, the last thing you want is to have your pants get snagged on a railing or something.
WHY ARE THERE BANDAGES ON HIS SHOES
I dunno why there are so many complains about the use of CryEngine in this game, those screenshots make me cry alright.
WHY ARE THERE BANDAGES ON HIS SHOES
Tails has the expertise to construct and repair highly advanced gadgets and machinery but lacks the skill to properly fix his own shoes.

I actually lost all my hope for this game now. I thought it was going to be the new sonic heroes but not even close.
Her leg is clipping through her skirt.
Nah, thats normal in videogames. i played assassin's creed and often see Altair's leg clipping through his robe.
Nah, thats normal in videogames. i played assassin's creed and often see Altair's leg clipping through his robe.
Except that was 2007, not a 2014 game running on a new console using the Cryengine.
Does anyone want to bet that the show could outdo the tie-in game? Because I have a feeling that cryengine and Sonic won't mix well.
Except that was 2007, not a 2014 game running on a new console using the Cryengine.
New games still have clipping in them.
Does anyone want to bet that the show could outdo the tie-in game? Because I have a feeling that cryengine and Sonic won't mix well.
It's not so much Cryengine, you could make a Sonic game in UE3/4 and it would matter more on the assets and design rather than the engine. What has me worried is that this game basically looks like a low-budget tie-in that hits all the 'outsourced lazy title' buttons. Right down to the downright annoying BANGARANG used in the game's trailer. Because that's what I want to imagine from an outsourced Sonic game: loud electronic house earrape.
Its sad that Sonic Heroes has better graphics than this.
I'm starting to realize that this is much more like a movie tie-in than a Sonic game. That's real bad news.
Everything about Sonic Boom just screams "Revamped for the nineties!".
It is, it's not even going to be released in Japan because they won't show the cartoon there either
I sure hope Jaleel White will voice Sonic again. Can't have a sonic show without that.
I sure hope Jaleel White will voice Sonic again. Can't have a sonic show without that.
nope, Roger Craig Smith again. I think his Sonic Colors performance wasn't bad, but christ did he sound cringeworthy at times in Lost World a trailer for the cartoon's already out, and it doesn't look bad at all (even though they're basically going to be, what, fifteen minute shorts with lolwhacky plots), this game just looks like a crap tie-in
