It is constantly updated, it's just that the updates added more half-done shit instead of building upon the main game mechanics

Same, also for the fact that for 1 week long you could upgrade Minecraft accounts to Paid.

I have no idea how many copies had been sold when I bought it. Think I bought it in June/July 2010. Still have the fondest memories of playing Classic/Creative though.
