I even have an apple fanboy friend that agrees that most of iOS apps suck
There are far more utility apps on Android which is great since I don't really like mobile gaming.
Malicious app? I thought it was a delicious app

For me it's more that this is a bit embarrassing for Apple - I don't want their control to be stricter, but letting something like this through, and then actually punish the guy that found out? That's just dumb.

Appstore: Quantity
There are very few Android exclusives, though. All of the best apps are on both.

I think it's more of what this indicates. We often hear of them banning an application for going against their policy of uh certain purity, or coding aproaches or if it conflicts with their interests.
Yet they let something actually malicious pass trough. It begs the question, what is the app review process actually for.
Obviously they must catch some openly malicious stuff as well, but what we hear tends to be more ideological.
