I've just been using a regular ass office mouse (with a surprisingly godly thumb button) because most gaming mice are kinda ass imo:

I'm satisfied with any mouse that has the two side buttons and a really nice shape. Logitech G-series feel sooo comfy to me but for some reason none of the older models like G400 are available at my retailer and I dont feel like paying that much just for the same mouse but "newer"
g100s works for me until i save up a lot more money after my computer :)
I've been using one of these since forever:

Is that bad?

I don't think I'd be able to use a mouse without at least two side buttons for any extended period of time anymore, they're just too useful.

I've used this mouse for years now, rarely need a charge and its surprisingly good.
Love the hyper-scroll and it drives me crazy when I get a mouse that doesn't have it.
Can't remember when I got it .. think its 6-7 years old but sadly started to act up lately with double-clicks.

If you think you're up to it, you can try opening up the microswitches and cleaning the contacts with rubbing alcohol, that's what I do with my G700 every couple of months
How can people live with mice that have such huge arches like this monstrosity?

I have that model, the perspective is odd on that, the arch and the size of the mouse is pretty normal.

Best mouse i ever had.

The alternative is another mouse. Going to give it a shoot, thx :P

It's definitely a great mouse, but I prefer its older sibling, the Performance MX.

That's not a normal mouse, it's not a $10 plastic toy nor is it marketed toward normal people.

I hate how it doesn't have the scroll wheel side clicks. It's comfy in the hand but the side buttons, I find are hard to press.
I don't know what the fuss is about mouses and stuff. I'd rather use money like that for hardware. I mean this is what I use and I've run into no problems whatsoever.

Peripherals are even more important IMO. You use your keyboard, mouse, and sound for everything you do. Not just games.

i just gotta have push to talk handy

I love it
Having owned a G502 for a few weeks now...
1) Sensor is lovely, feels much better than my previous mic.
2) Build quality is great, feels nice.
3) It's one of the most uncomfortable mice I've ever used in my entire life. I don't know how Logitech could completely abandon the form factor of their previous mice which people loved. The mouse is find if you have shorter fingers or smaller hands.
4) It's also one of the heaviest mice I've used. Even with no added weight, it has so much inertia. Using it on a flat hard surface like my slick wood top it's fine, but the inertia makes it difficult to start and stop movement on a dime like I could with my G500.
I even bought a G500s off ebay for more than the G502, but the sensor feels like shit and it's unpredictable. The G502 is simply too narrow compared to previous mice. I'd have my index, middle, and ring finger on the top of the mouse like most mice I use, but when I want to use the scrollwheel with my index finger there is simply not enough room for my fingers anymore, so I end up having my ring finger and pinky finger on the side of the mouse which is nearly convex causing an uncomfortable bending of my fingers.
I'd love to gut the inside to cut out weight or somehow extend the width of the mouse and it would be great. And as much as I like the quality metal scroll wheel, it needlessly adds weight to the whole package.
used a mx518 until the cable started getting frayed, switched to g500s a few years back
the mx518 was a pretty good mouse for its time but the line correction/angle snapping or whatever is extremely bad. makes for bad precision in shooters.
Honestly I wish I had more buttons on my g500s, but none of that MMO mouse with an attached numpad crap. It's just that since I started playing arma pretty much every button has found a use. just having side buttons for zooming and push to talk is extremely useful.
I'd love it if someone could recommend a mouse with similar ergonomics and dpi to the g500s, same amount of buttons or more, the unlimited scroll feature and an optical sensor instead of laser. that would probably be my dream mouse.
I still only use mice where the only extra button is the mouse wheel one
There are some extra buttons on mine but i never use them at all.
I own the Zowie FK1 and I'm very, very happy with it.
Mouse 4 and 5 are a must. I can't even imagine using the internet without em.
That's what the scroll wheel side clicks on many Logitech mice are for

IT IS SO USEFUL
tbh the worst thing about the g600 is the lack of that clicky/slidey scroll wheel
the g700's scroll wheel could not have been a finer thing to have.

I actually took my g600 apart and found 2 steel weights in it. I removed them, it's definitely a LOT lighter now.
if you feel like doing that as well, you can find an image of the mouse without the padding, cut around the screws and take the bottom off like I did, remove the weights (the g600 has it, I'm not sure if other mice have it, it would be stupid to not double check first) and then screw it back
alternatively buy pads online and replace them. I found pads that actually work better than the originals so that's great at least.
opening it, I'm not sure if it'll void the warranty but I didn't see anything to show that they'd know so fuck it. They're really loose with them so I wouldn't worry though. my mouse in particular is pretty decent with being dismantled, so I think yours should be too.
I have the Steel Series Kinzu Pro mouse...it serves me well.

Good job Logitech, you have my mouse business for life now.
I use the big brother of the first on the list
[t]http://tecdrome.net/images/m95.jpg[/t]
The way the side buttons are arranged is brilliant in my opinion. There's also plenty of room for your thumb to rest/push on for when you aren't using them.

I hope the thumb rest is better than the G402 and G502, tried it in store and just didn't like it. Althouh that Corsair's side button placement is interesting.

It's not so much a thumb rest, more where my thumb rests.
