Aaand there we go. EA has turned Dice into another cow to milk for money. Bastards.
How is this any different from the development length and release schedule of any other Battlefield title?
It feels like BF3 just came out and nevermind that BF4 is still set during modern times. If they were pulling a 2142 and setting it in the far future then I'd have no issues, really.

I really don't see why they didn't bother just switching priority to making 2143 a little while into development. I know game development is more complex than that, but still, there's no benefit to having a modern setting again. Black Ops 2 pretty much shifted the CoD audience's focus to sci-fi, the fans of BF are practically begging for 2143, and at worst, this will just split the playerbase even more than the DLCs ever could. And if they are really so deadset on doing the modern setting again, then what did that fully rendered 2142 ship easter egg in the last BF3 DLC mean? I'd much rather have a full-fledged 2143, rather than a half-baked, BC2 Vietnam-esque DLC for BF4, if that's what it means. (I know BC2 Vietnam was alright, but the 2142 setting deserves more than that, seriously)
