The real question is why the fuck do people like you just shit on any thread that even mentions WoW and derail it by complaining about shit that has nothing to do with the topic at hand?
If you want to circlejerk about how fucking amazing World of Warcraft is, go on the Blizzard forums.
They're vanity but if you pay $25 you won't have to purchase the mount itself which could cost lots and lots of in game currency. Unfair advantage.
Yeah... You haven't played WoW in years, thanks for showing us that.

4G and 50G. That's quite a bit for level 20s/40s. Explain to me why Blizzard should be doing this in a game where they have 8.2 million subscribers and a monthly fee of generally $15.00?
How hard did you work for Rank 14 vanilla? How hard did you work to clear BT and SWP in TBC? How hard did you work to clear hardmodes in Ulduar or Heroic ICC in Wrath? How hard did you work to clear Heroic Firelands in Cata? Let me guess, you didn't work at all, because you never did those things. You just sit back being a pathetic casual and cry about how easy the game is and claiming to have played WoW since release. It's funny how most people that claim to have played since release always seem to forget how the game actually was back in vanilla and TBC.
Blizzard have been giving gear away since fucking TBC, not that you would know, because you likely never got keyed for Kara and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The term welfare epics started in TBC for a reason and that reason isn't because people worked their asses off for them.

Even more amusing is that you claim to have played for 9 years(that time hasn't come yet but w/e) while crying about them beating a dead horse. Maybe instead of crying all day you should just unsub.
Actually I did all of those things. Hence why I'm saying it's easy now, it would be pretty difficult for me to say otherwise without having substance in my arguement. I never got to rank 14 in vanilla because I couldn't dedicate the time to doing it, but all the PVE stuff I did, all the vanilla dungeons, including AQ40. So how about you get some facts straight before you blindly make accusations about someone you don't even know?

4 gold and 50g is not much at all. Like, unless you're being an idiot and buying useless gear on the AH, you'll have well over 3x the amount needed when you hit 20/40. You'd know this if you actually played. Why shouldn't Blizzard do it? Millions of people are obviously willing to buy it, so why not? If they started selling things that help your character that you can only get from the store, like gear, then I might be angry, but it's just vanity shit that doesn't affect me in any way.
I always nostalgia so hard with WoW. I had so many good years playing this with my friends.
Sorry Azeroth, i've proven myself already by having done the original paladin charger quest, killing Ragnaros, Nefarian, The Lich King and having countless of armor sets over the years.

I said, I quit after Cataclysm. It's a shell of it's former self and it's fucking atrocious. Apparently a lot of people agree because it's constantly mentioned on pretty much every discussion board/conversation involving World of Warcraft and their numbers have dropped quite a bit. Still going strong though, wonder how many of those accounts are people who forgot that they're still paying for it.
Also they shouldn't do it because it's fucking bullshit for a company that already takes $15 out of your pocket monthly to add micro transactions regardless of whether it's vanity gear or not, especially mounts at $25 a piece (which actually have a function so it isn't really vanity anymore).

1. You're still basing your experience on WoW based on personal opinion. Stop it. It has no merit.
2. "A lot of people agree" is the loud minority. The people who are happy are the people who don't post.
3. The number drops were mainly in the eastern market due to the over saturation of new MMOs they have available.
4. If you can get the best gear in game without having to go through the store then who the hell cares about microtransactions? Oh also you're wrong about mounts its not the mounts themselves that provide the function it's the travel skill. I can still keep up with you on a shitty little Pinto or a plain gryphon with the right skill.

We get it. World of Warcraft is an old game and some people have moved on. In the end nobody cares about your personal experience having any measurable weight against theirs. It's their money and their time and you should spend your time doing something more constructive.
Considering a good friend just gave me some free game time, I am looking forward to this.
As for the discussion in this thread:

I still think it is fun and rewarding, but I honestly think too much has been sacrificed and gutted in the name of accessibility. Much of the potential for player driven content and cooperation (the very thing which MMO's ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE) was cut in the name of simplicity.
I only RP in WoW now, I prefer to remember my raiding days back in WOTLK before I RPed.
blah blah blah everyone is right blah blah blah nobody is wrong blah blah blah blah people have different tastes and opinions
What the fuck is the point of posting on a forum if that's the mentality everyone has?
"Yeah, what's the point of discussing things when everyone has a different view and opinion on it? If we all thought exactly the same, then we'd have plenty of things to talk about!"
And not a single fuck was given that day.
